QUOTE(epsilon_chinwk86 @ Jan 22 2024, 12:31 PM) let say now burning 100% Coal.actually in most Country. Working HOURS Power consumption usually 50%~75% more than Night and after 12.00am by adding Solar Power to supply the Peak hour during working hours. and Night still runing on Coal. which is very OK. The world is waiting for more cost effcient Energy Storage to fully go Solar. as now Solar Panel is getting more powerful yet cheaper than before. |

QUOTE(Emily Ratajkowski @ Jan 22 2024, 11:53 AM) i thought last time got 1 ktard energy expert say that malaysia actually not a good country to do solar because a lot of clouds and rain? Solar panels in this country is effective for about 4 hours daily on average. Johor have large data centers that need renewable energy supply. Hence, solar power plant installation. |

QUOTE(max_cavalera @ Jan 22 2024, 11:54 AM) Last time the argument probably correct when compared to the cost of solar. siapa yang buat solar atas bumbung sambil loan 5-7 years tu boleh menangis lathe price of solar have come down 80-85% the last 10 years... will that argument still make sense now? even much colder climate EU country like Germany is going big on solar now |

This is stupid ... they should do as much as possible to get people to install solar on their homes, that will spread out the generating capacity and will reuse space (roofs) instead of clearing large swaths of land that can be used for something else - especially if it results in deforestation.
Also if you're providing incentives for people to install solar in their homes you dont have much if any capital outlay either. This is why you see in other advanced countries they dont generally build big solar plants but get their residents to put up solar on their roofs. Its a win win win situation. But here ... build big big power plants so that certain parties can benefit with crony deals, its the case with coal plants, damns, and now solar plants. |

I think biggest obstacle for us to use Solar Panel is our weak currency. But the Electric generate is local price but not International price. The panel made cost in USD. when Malaysian buy it, its cost in USD. But if u consume the Electricity, it is local produced, not heavily affected by USD max_cavalera liked this post
