As topic, is registering warranty necessary? Or can just claim using receipt?

Be it for phones, TV or appliances, anyone have experience in claiming warranty as long as the warranty still valid from the date of receipt, but never register them day 1 with the respective brands?

register online? just need to check online.
claim using receipt? your receipt gone how? cant register cause they still need your day of purchase. unless the store keep record.

when i bought my laptop time, they didn't ask to register. instead ask me to keep receipt. then i itchy backside ask them how they know. or how if i lost receipt.

they say is harder if lose receipt. but still can be done cause S/N got follow got record. like Credit card payer name. then can verify with IC. bla bla bla.

Extended warranty from 3rd year is under dealer, not manufacturer Toshiba.

Tried clarify with them whether that extended warranty is from Toshiba?

Same like apple care as extended warranty then should be ok.

So far, for phone and laptop issues, I also claimed warranty with just receipt. Never once have I registered for any sort of warranty. Touch wood, hope nothing goes wrong in the future.

I wouldn't say so. Last time I purchased extended warranty on my laptop with RM300, then ended up having my laptop's screen and speakers spoiled beyond the original warranty period. I asked the shop how much would such repair cost if I didnt have warranty, they told me the screen alone is 400+, speakers would be another 300 roughly.
So lucky thing I got the extended warranty.

High-value items better register, and avoid unnecessary bureaucracy when claiming a warranty.

all those extended warranty is cover by dealer, never brand supplier, unless brand supplier got run their own extended warranty campaign, but unlikely, any extended warranty is a cost to the supllier.

Buy stuff that will not break. No need warranty. I've never bothered with warranty.

If somehow rosak, but new one. No need to send to shop, wait for them to repair, follow up why so long repair, then collect after 2 months workmanship like shit and don't trust it anymore.

No register later cannot claim warranty. Your own lost.
