tng is contactless card, inside the card there is a long antenna(copper wire) around the card, when you place the card near any "contactless reader", the reader will send wireless signal powerful enough to wake the chip up in the card(like wireless charging), when the chip wake up, it just transmit the ID of the card and maybe do a bit of simple read/write. Most of the time the chip isnt the 1 that is faulty, but the copper wire broken inside the card, so the antenna unable to generate enough power to wake the chip up.

Dunno wor... but I've seen my colleagues using the new ICs. They paid around MYR10 for their new ICs.
I was stopped at a polis roadblock and the abang polis actually advised me to change my IC as mine is the non-hologram type, badly discoloured and peeling off near the chip.

1 of my colleague changed his "new" IC twice as the previous IC was also malfunctioning similar to your case.

To be exact is mifare module koyak lo. The ic chip is separate one from mifare one

I suspect that the hybrid tng like IC tng and enhanced tng are NOT build to last as long as single classic tng

I think need to design the mifare to coexist with ic chip or nfc chip will means shorter lifespan. I suspect mykad/ic tng will only last for around 5-6 years

How to check the year ic was issued? I kinda forgot when.

Link your IC to TNG app and check the expiry date, then minus 10 years from that.
