My previous job is considered a good paid routine job and only handle tiny part of the process (MNC practice). I quit and join a new industry with a pay cut. After 10 years I am now a hod with few times high income than previous company.

Career growth may not seen in short time but in long term it will definitely pay off provided that we keep growing along the years.

Lots of reasons, all of them valid to the person who did the jumping. I jumped out of a hospital setting into private practice, although I was slated to be the next HOD of that department - and it turned out for the better.

I'm always grow 1st person, thn ask for more. If company refused, take your newly achieved skill and find another job with better offer. If that's chance to grow your skill, take it, learn 1st and negotiate later. Don't turn down the chance given by company for u to learn, they are paying you for u to learn the same time, it's much more worthy then learning new skill and paying urself during your private time. Your personal value are always the best leverage u have to negotiate for salary and job, learn something that valueable to the market is always rewarding.

It's very dangerous to stay with repetitive job with higher salary, one day unlucky u kena layout, u will find your self in uncompetitive situation to secure new job.
