Bernama staff gets physical counter service for PADU registration
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 30 (Bernama) -- Employees of the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) today took advantage of the opportunity to register with the Central Database Hub (PADU) system at the physical counters set up in Wisma Bernama from today until tomorrow. Federal Territories Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) director, Siti Zakiah Muhamad Isa said physical registration can solve the problems that users commonly face when filling in information. "Physical counters make it easier for our DOSM officers to provide assistance to solve problems and provide detailed explanations about PADU system. "Earlier, I saw many have issues on the confirmation after the filling the details as the confirmation took a long time. That's why one of the help we can give is to ask them to come to the counter for physical verification," she said when met at Wisma Bernama here today. Siti Zakiah said registrants need to bring their own identity card and a copy of the identity card of their household members to register with PADU and she also encouraged the public to register and update PADU so as not to miss the initiatives provided by the government. Meanwhile, Bernama's Head of Corporate Affairs, Mariati Mohd Arif, 50, said the programme made it easier for her and other staff to register, especially those who did not have time to register as only 10 minutes were allotted to fill in all the information. "Before this we heard that it is difficult to get into this system and maybe many people are hesitant to access the system on a computer. Actually it is not difficult. Had tried to enter the system and help is readily available here," she said. Sharing the same view was Bernama TV studio director, Mohamed Syamsul Adlien Md Nazri, 45 who, said the physical registration session was more than a facility, as he now has a clearer idea of PADU's goals. "I have tried to register online five times earlier but there were a lot of hangups. So, when doing something like this at the counter, it's easier and quicker. Officers are on hand to explain more about the use of PADU. "By registering with PADU we can verify our latest profile information from other government agencies as well as help our family members to update their identities so that they (identity) are not misused by other individuals," he said when met. PADU, which was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, aims to prevent leakages in the provision of aid and subsidies that have been enjoyed by those who are not eligible. Based on administrative data sources, as of Jan 29, 2024, 2.07 million people out of 30.08 million individuals have registered with the PADU system. --BERNAMA Source: https://www.bernama.com/en/general/news.php?id=2266986 |
