QUOTE(Duckies @ Jan 2 2024, 10:12 AM) I was checking out the Sony HT-X8500, Samsung Q600C and one more model from Yamaha but can't remember the exact name...need to test it out. I was also comparing the Sony HT-X8500 and the Samsung B550 (HN no more stock). The Sony HT-X8500 without the sub-woofer lose out on the bass. Go and test with the song Way Down Deep. You can hear the big difference. |

Sony S500F and itu Samsung Q600 not bad actually, for normal usage la.But I really advise you go listen first, see which one you find it liking. Especially for bass, some find it not nice to hear and etc. And ya, after discount is 2k for Sonos beam gen 2. But for now only discount RM99 The sales person also explained that Sonos didn't have any after sales service here ya. so incase any issue, will be 1-1 exchange (come with 2 years warranty) if wan extend also can I remember few hundred for 2 or 3 years. So still is over 2k+ if want to extend the warranty, unless you can find outsource which can help repair it. |

So many promote Sonos here although its crappy for its price. Maybe coz you guys are comparing them to even crappier soundbars?
Best use of your budget will be to get some active stereo speakers which will sound better than those soundbars claiming atmos, dts-x , etc. Some examples for different budgets: FiiO SP3 around RM1,300 Hivi Swans D300 around RM1,888 Triangle Borea Active BR02 BT around RM3,000 If can afford it go for the Triangles. |

TS go get Sonos Beam 2, then later can upgrade 2 Ikea Symfonisk speaker to become rear surround, become truly 5.0.2 After that got money, buy the Sonos Sub Mini, then you got the real 5.1.2 atmos experience. ![]() BuKeYi liked this post

QUOTE(BuKeYi @ Dec 30 2023, 12:24 PM) I have the same budget as you for soundbar My choices were sonos beam 2 - 2400 Bose 600 - 2300 Bose 900 - 3300 Jbl 9.1 - 2800 A5000 - 2800 All were prices during event days . But after comparing , i realized the soundbar is not complete without at least the sub woofer and also rear speakers . Then after much survey , i purchased q990c from samsung with rear and sub for 3400 . Best purchase ever, it is consider cheaper than all above ( except jbl ) if you have to add on sub and rear speaker later . Sony sub alone is 1k - 2k . And i tell you what , if i off my rear and sub with my q990c , the soundbar alone is really not worth mentioning . So sub and rear is a must . Just go with q990c . BuKeYi liked this post

QUOTE(Duckies @ Jan 2 2024, 11:16 AM) In that case, you should go and try different brand of soundbar and see which suits you better, don't tied yourself with Samsung only as can't get the Q-symphony to work. or perhaps you would like to buy my q700c? Bought less than a month. I could have offload it from you. |
