recently my oppo reno 6 pro have screen problem, i proceed to share my experience on one of the chinese oppo users group in fb (oppo 吹水站)
oppo 吹水站wanted to share my experience and find a cheaper and reliable way to fix the screen.
first time i tried to post, the admin rejected my post saying i should contact oppo care online chat first before posting. so i did, was advised to go oppo pavillion bukit jalil and so i went.
and duh, the technician check and found my phone in good condition but since my warranty is over, i have to fork out RM800 to repair the screen defect (expected reply since i already went to oppo ioi city mall before this, but hey i thought the admin of fb group know something i don't)
so tried to post in the group again. again, my motive was to share my crappy experience with the screen and to find somewhere to repair the phone. this time my post was approved… and removed within 1 hour. i tried editing and posting again and still, removed.
the group i think is by technave (with 64k members) , oh well, might as well rename to oppo ads group if members cant share anything bad about their oppo phone. i seen post about defective screen in the group from time to time, but most will get removed later.
my phone screen now, anyone can recommend trustworthy repair shop?

Hello everyone.
My Reno 6 Pro's screen started showing green lines from October, starting with one and now four. Later, two of the green lines gradually turned into white lines.
The phone has always been in a case, never dropped, never exposed to water; the lines appeared on their own. It's the first time encountering such an issue. A phone that cost nearly 3,000 MYR, used for two years (the green lines appeared exactly two years after purchase in October), the performance is fine, but the screen is giving up.
I went to the Oppo service center at IOI City Mall for inquiry, and they quoted almost 800 MYR for a screen replacement.
I wanted to ask if anyone has faced a similar situation and if there are other more affordable repair options. (I don't want to spend 800 MYR on a screen replacement for a two-year-old phone and don't want to give Oppo any more money).
My Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G has the same issue as yours recently (mine after about 2 years started to have this issue) and they gave me one time free replacement of the screen after appeal (at Pavillion BJ outlet). Just had to pay RM50 for workmanship charge, with another 6 months warranty from the date of screen change.
I think this issue is very common for AMOLED borderless (curved) screens. So in the future I don't think I'll go for those screens with curves. Stick to plain old flat screens. Will also avoid those foldable screens...even worse I feel for reliability with the constant folding and unfolding.
