Eh like that just change frequently then okay kot? Change frequently is still cheaper than getting those branded lens.

Another thing is that I used to have Essilor and Carl Zeiss lens...eventually also scratched and have flakes.
*
Whut? If Carl zeiss has flakes u can go claim warranty within first two years.

Go back that optometrist and diu 9 them. Either they swap and ordered a cheapo lenses for u or u kena scam. I had mine for more than 5 years and still in prestige condition.

Is it? I bought from Focus Point some more...I also don't know kena scammed or not dllm but the guy show me like got the "branding name" on the glass under fog/mist.

So after that I am like fuck it, ain't gonna spend so much for specs. 500 max...and so I got the Kodak lens...seems so far so good.

The name Kodak is reputable enough for me.

the thinner and the thick one COST THE SAME if you order direct from alibaba , only that they know ppl want thinner one because it is lighter.

1.74 thicker
1.61 thin
1.56 thinner

only US$0.50 PER PAIR IF u purchase more than 500 pairs
$5 for 1 pair

Maximum order quantity: 10 pair
Sample price:
US$5.00/pair

Ayam order from optometrist je thinnest one cause ayam use thick thick glasses.

Then ada kazen open shop sell so order from them.

U self ordered who gonna tailor it for u into the frames etc. ask them do one pair gonna cost u 150. Why double work and cost.

Actually those branded lens and capalang lens..got big difference?
*
i used Hoya last time because can claim. then after switch job cannot claim anymore go do cheaplack lense. after wear 1 day i straight take out from own pocket and do back branded lense.

your eye will get tired super fast on normal lense. i wear my specs all the time. so wear cheap lense really take a toll. if you are used to cheap lense. dont go with the expensive one. its a point of no return. laugh.gif

I also wear it all the time..so far never tried cheapo capalang lens before..I've tried Hoya, Carl Zeiss, Essilor and Kodak...macam sama je. Among them Kodak is the cheapest/reasonable so I just stick with it...so I am not sure if paying more for the other branded lens can justify it.

For flaking / peeling, i only have this problem with hoya so i didn't go with them anymore. I use my glasses very rough and dont take care one.

Yea I need advice on this too. I got Nikon Seemax lenses for my 450 astigmatism 3 years ago and the coating has peeled off. I got them for like RM 2k+ from Iconic Lab in Mid Valley.

Few weeks ago I went back and the price for the same lenses are almost RM 4k. Wtf? I can't be spending 3-4K every 2-3 years on this per pair... especially since I have 2 pairs of glasses.

Ya true. Ayam know of this after kazen open shop too. But it’s hassle free.

Ayam gotten spec above 1000 power basic lense for 300 only from kazen. Other shops around all selling 800-1200.

Can see the difference in margin how big.

For lense, just clean with water. That’s all. Don’t use whatever wipes etc.

And it’s 3 years ago so I’m not sure if it’s still within warranty. As far as I know Nikon offers two years warranty if the lenses turns yellow and starts flaking.

Buying branded because they have the quality and warranty lol

So last nite i bring my wife to change her spec

At first the salesgirl (cute cheeky amoi) said all spec frame in the cabinet are rm180

With lens that can change colour + protect from blue light will add rm200 so total for the spec will be rm380

Then another lady (mature awek tudung) bring my wife to do eyecheck and do some consultation and suddenly introduce a lense that can relax the eyes and the price shoot up to rm1200!!  doh.gif  bangwall.gif

So i said its ok, no need that lense, just proceed with the rm380

Then suddenly if i like to proceed with that, need to wait for 1-2 weeks for them to order

WTH??  doh.gif  bangwall.gif

Is this a normal practice? Bcoz now i realise like previous eyewear shop kinda do the same shit

Dulu dulu they are earning 10 times for each pair sold till there’s competitors coming in like owl hoot etc that sells 199 for a pair.

Even that they are making 5 times the cost for each pair sold unless those need to custom made to order.

Even then they cost 100-300 for each pair like those with ast power over 1000 and being sold around 800-1200

I don't use soap. But I do rinse with water and then wipe with the microfibre cloth everyday.

Hoya confirm flaking issue. now i use Zeiss and memang i also change every 1-2 years since i can claim company.
I believe its good to change every 2 years at least because your power might run after 2 years. i also dont keep my old specs because if the power is different, will feel dizzy if swap between them.
