Hmm, from the pics, it's not like the pics are dark, but rather there's something wrong ith the lighting.
Better u ask the photography section, there got experts who can help you |

QUOTE(Wolf516 @ Jun 18 2008, 08:35 PM) Hmmm from what I can see the photo lack sharpness and seems a tad noisy. what cam u using btw. you can try some of the steps below that I use when shooting figures.to shoot something with white bg, try to increase your exposure compensation around 2/3. Also always set your camera to macro mode, shoot in manual mode with custom white balance. Also use timer when shooting, and the lowest ISO you can use. |

So the lights I have is from Ikea's 2 with mechanical stands. 1 is stronger than the other one I place it so that the stronger one will flash at the top while the other from the side.... as for the exposure I have it on +1 (my camera is until +2) |

QUOTE(valho @ Jun 18 2008, 09:28 PM) umm strong light should be the main light, while the weaker light as top light, so your light should switch position. You can soften the light a bit by DIY a diffuser, tracing paper and box works great. +1 exposure should be enough, but it's strange that the photo lack sharpness, hmm, well try out the steps i given on the previous post and here and see how it goes. takes some closeup pic too btw my DIY diffuser is juz paste the tracing paper to the lights lol QUOTE(Exiled_Gundam @ Jun 18 2008, 09:30 PM) But i want the C.C in R2.... Putting the tracing paper directly on the light doesn't work? Mine is quite thick. What if you place 2 layers or move the light source further away?
Btw valho, what colour temp for bulbs are best for taking pictures of figures against a white bg? I have a 6500K bulb which looks very white / abit bluish and another 4000K lamp which is a bit warmer and yellowish. Added on June 18, 2008, 11:10 pmAnother thing I wanted to add is that won't the pictures be grainy if you over expose them? ![]() Like this picture here. If I want an even bg, I need to overexpose it right? This one has a higher exposure but the hair looks a bit to bright. The colour also seems abit off since it is white-ish. ![]() This post has been edited by raptor_cZn: Jun 18 2008, 11:13 PM |
