No protection was given..no bubble wraps..no styrofoams..

Btw..OT question..

How do you guys take your pictures?? Any tactics??
Do you use flash? All the pics I take are blurry when I view in full size..not nice colour..but it will be nice if I use flash! -.-
Example of pics below..
The first one is without flash..second one is with flash..

Please click on the thumbnails to view full size. I hope you can see the difference..

So..is there anyway I can improve on my photographing skills?? How to get rid of the blurs?
*
wow the box really in bad condition

I use my own setup that's similar to a light tent that is use for product shots, with 2 lights source, a reflector and a difusser. A piece of paper is use as background. I don't use flash coz the light from the flash is too harsh.
Always shoot in macro mode, i am not sure what cause the blur, but you can try using a mini tripod and use timer to shoot instead of hand held and see if that get rid of the blur

@Aeon_Clock~we usually buy online from places like Hobby Search, HLJ and Play-Asia. For local shop you can try out xl-shop

Thanks bro!

Btw..when you take pics of your figures..and you view them full size (in my case its 2048x1536), it is very clear or is it something like my pic?

It seems that my pics look clear if I reduce the size to monitor size but it looks blurry when I view it full size..

Thank you for contacting Play-Asia.com.

We are very sorry to see the top part of the package has been folded. Once again we certainly understand your current feeling and frustration. It is our apology about the way of handling this order for you in this case.

Please be confirmed that we have reported this case to our Warehouse Manager already. The Warehouse Manager will instruct our warehouse colleague to handle the similiar packaging items more carefully by using a bigger box and not folding the top part for your favourite. We believe your future order will arrive in good condition.

May we confirm whether all items in the Weapons Set for Final Fantasy Play Arts in this order are in good condition? If unfortunately all items have no problem, how about if we add US$4 value on your unused US$5 shopping coupon, for your future purchase from us, for the compensation to you this time?

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Best regards,

Joe

besides online shops and XL...are there any others? Some models are quite old and I can't find them online. So was hoping to see them in shops around PJ/KL smile.gif

btw, usually how much extra you guys have to pay for postage?

there's time machine at times square, stardust memory at sg wang, fantasy toys at lyp.

postage varies, if u mean online site, Play-Asia provide free shipping, for Hobby Search and HLJ it varies depending on the size and weight of the figure(s). of course shipping a few figures together is definitely cheaper than one by one

oh
no lah, i thought u are KL, then can come join us mar laugh.gif

@valho
btw, do u recalibrate the white balance everytime u start shooting a figure?
coz for mine, if i don't, the figure's colors seem to affect the balance a lil
maybe the light bounces on the figure and shine on the bg, too lil until we can't notice tongue.gif but the camera can
so i have to calibrate it with the figure on the stage

yeah every figure I will recalibrate the white balance, sometimes if i change background or position of the light i'll recalibrate as well. Currently my setup allow me to directly save the pic into my pc, so i can check the color on the fly rather than after finish shooting smile.gif
After making a custom white balance i'll do some test shots with the figure on stage as well, to make sure the color is correct.

hmm cutting it might work at least not so high smile.gif

ic could be because of the transparent wing, the light will go through the wing and cast a reddish glow, causing the camera to get the wrong color smile.gif
haha well the software that comes with the camera allow me to connect it to me pc, not sure if it works for other canon camera or just the dslr range smile.gif
