DSLR with tripod will get you professional pics. iPhone with long exposure time is fairly decent if can hold still. But it is below 0, freezing and unless your iPhone has a tripod, it is better to get a pro with DSLR

Indeed dslr yield better picture. I was just disappointed that you can’t see it with your human eye

You can still see it with human eye, but it's not vividly green like in the photos. It looked more like silver and somewhat glowing.

Then once you take a photo, you will go "oh wow", that looks way better

Nice! Got the reddish hue which is nicer.

Tromso I had mostly greenish hue. Svalbard I got the reddish hue, but didn't really take much photos there (was quite cloudy)

We didn't specifically chase the aurora but its quite fun to keep hunting the light once we saw it lol. All appears right at our doorstep
