Feel free to ask me anything regarding this topic.

Strongly recommend to experience this at least once in your lifetime

Useful tips:
1. Season is from September to April
2. Recommended location: Tromsø outskirts. City has too much light pollution. Northern Finland, Iceland, Svalbard, central scandinavia also possible
3. Spend to go on a tour that offers professional photos for memories. The last thing you want are worthless photos from all the money spent and suffering sub-zero temperatures
4. Stay for a week. Weather is difficult to predict and is usually the biggest obstacle
5. Moon cycles when it is new moon is when sky is the darkest
6. Peak of 11 year solar cycle is expected in 2025. Next year or 2025 is still a good time
7. If on tight budget, book flights, hotels and buy winter clothes way in advance
8. Download aurora apps. Aurora Reach seems the most useful to me
9. Use long shutter time, wide aperture and/or night mode when taking photos
10. Photos will look better than in real life, be prepared for that!

You’re really lucky, I was in tromso 2 weeks ago and barely got to see anything after spending hours in -17 temperatures

Hated the whole experience

It really depends on luck. My tour guide said I had really good conditions. Clear skies, decent KP. Also caught glimpse of slightly more reddish aurora.

Best part was the show started just when reached, so didn't even need to wait

That forecast means it is just too early. Green = low chance, orange = medium chance and red = high chance.
The heatmap will move westwards though. My forecast was something like the attached, except it had an additional red oval within the orange oval
