Nice. Good to know 👍
This. Best solution for vowifi headache. Why do I keep asking vowifi again doh.gif My age is catching up on me.

After much complains on the VolTE issue, Oneplus developers finally get it into their thick heads to enable our local telco VoLTE settings into the modems. But still they would not put in VoWifi and hence why many are still not getting VoWifi. Tbh, Im sick and tired of these jokers already. Seems they are not to keen on making the phone user friendly for all. Come on VoLTE and VoWifi are standard settings that should work out of the box and here we are still needing to mod it here and there to make it work. Dont even get me started on 5G. doh.gif

I think volte work way before when i used it in 1+ 9 ... also 5G work just fine during A12 and A13.
As for vowifi yes it is not out of the box and i think most phone will have this issue too if not using mod
*
Not for all models. Anyway this is not supposed to happen. VoLTE and VoWifi is supposed to work out of the box. Don't need to go through all these steps to make it work. My cheapo RedMI 10C has vowifi and VoLTE works out of the box. Anyway, even Pixel has solved the issue of VoLTE and Vowifi as well as 5G with the latest update.

I have enough with oneplus. Luckily my 8t got green line and sold after repair.

Now using honor, great hardware, stable and most important support volte and vowifi for most telcos. However, the ui and features not as good as oneplus but it stable and no funny things after software update.

Sorry, will not go back to oneplus for now.
*
The green line issue was Oneplus' fault tbh. The fault lies with the manufacturer of the LED panels.

My advice to Oneplus buyers, do not buy if you are not into troubleshooting the phones manually. Better stick to the tried and tested models like Samsung, Iphones etc.

Overpricing is pretty normal for Oneplus Malaysia for every new model launched.

That is why after been on the Oneplus One until now, I have never really bought local sets. Maybe only once which was the 6T.

Im actually more surprised there are no Pre-Orders this round. rclxub.gif

Ends on the 25 .. since CNY will close for a while
Ya anyone who preorder and flashed global on the CN set please report on what is working and what's not

Most likely 5G, VoLTE will work but dunno about Vowifi since some telco don't enable it 😭
*
Nothing to do with telco la. Its just that Oneplus didn't enable it for this region.

Those CN set flashed with global ROM will be able to get OTA updates? hmm.gif

OnePlus wants to start blocking imported phone.  sad.gif

Chinese OnePlus 12 is reportedly region-locked

OnePlus has seemingly implemented a region lock on its Chinese-market OnePlus 12 series. The development follows closely on the heels of the global launch of the phone earlier this month.

Based on the information we’ve received, it seems that the region lock was enforced on Chinese OnePlus 12 units once the global version became available earlier this month.

Users are reportedly encountering issues similar to those experienced with the OnePlus 11 last year, restricting the phone’s calling functionality.
*
Yes. This has already started way earlier than that but there were always ways to go around that. But its getting serious since Oneplus 11 where a code is need to reactivate the phone to allow it to make calls. And no surprises you need to get the code from Oneplus themselves.

But then again does it only effect the phone function?? Others like data and wifi will work?

Yes U need the code .. last time you need just to send a SMS using china mobile number to activate it
Buy then there was a code 🤔
*
It only affects calling function. So you wont be able to make outgoing calls. Other features still functions.

The only way to get rid of it for good is to unlock the bootloader and switch it to an international model. But then again this requires some technical know how. Personally I wouldn't bother anymore. Why buy something to get yourself into so much trouble. rclxub.gif

They have to price lower in China to stay relevant. People will only pay top dollar for Iphones and Huawei in China.

scare region locked and the seller cannot settle it. sweat.gif
*
Some phones will not region lock immediately. It will only lock after 1 to 2 weeks usage (usually 2 weeks) as reported by some users. Anywhere, there is already already a way to solve this but it involves unlocking bootloader and changing phone region as published in XDA.

I can't decide between 12 and 12R. Anyone tried both phones? Trying to see if can get some feedback here.

My usage on phones is pretty normal. Usually I just scroll FB, Insta, browsing sites, play games which are not resource intensive. I seldom take photos/videos, just occasionally.

I was planning to get 12R from fastechlim, but then I saw that 12 is only RM 1k more. With RM 1k more, I get better camera system and SD8G3. It's nice to get a better processor. Although I don't use resource intensive apps/games, but I guess with a better processor the phone should perform smoothly even after 3-4 years.

Camera wise, of course nice to have a better camera, but not sure how much I will use it or appreciate it lol

Any other pros of the 12 compared to 12R besides the camera and processor that I should consider?
*
Both are totally different phones. The 12R is the budget version. The 12R does not comes with the bells and whistles like the 12 does but the price does make makes a difference. One thing to note the 12R does not comes with wireless charging and a slightly lesser IPV rating.

by the way op12 is quite a bit heavy for me..not really issue though..

Yup... its a big phone no? Similar size to the S24 Ultra. I know that 5G, VoLTE and Vowifi (Sim 1) works out of the box. VoWifi only doesn't work on Sim 2 right?
