CN variant confirmed to be region locked. Either activate the phone in China or get local Oppo service center to unlock manually.(anecdotal on reddit)

From hearsay, since OP11, the old trick of flashing global firmware (Oxygen OS) no longer works because future OTA will be unsuccessful.

Expect to be a tat more expensive then CN one

Flashing global rom wont break the phone. But seller will need to "activate" the phone prior to shipping it over by unbloxing it and inserting a China sim card to make a call. Then you are free to do whatever you want with the phone.

Anyway, Oxygen OS should not be out yet until the global version rolls out. So it might be wiser to wait for it first.

what do u guys think about OnePlus12? Is it way better than all the previous version after 8?
1 of my colleagues is thinking of buying it... kinda like a loyal OnePlus customer... though only bought 1 long time ago.
In terms of all the phones out there now with SG8 Gen3 chipsets, will OnePlus12 be slightly cheaper compared to these others SG8 Gen3 phones?

I've heard they make lives difficult for CN set users who flash global rom. Some wireless functions may not work as well as intended and the OTA might be unsuccessful, have to flash manually.

Mark my words, Samsung S24 entry level will even be cheaper than OP12. You want cheapest SD8G3 and do not care about other specs, better eye Xiaomi K70 Pro series or watch out for Poco F6 series

If I were you I would wait for official Oneplus My to launch the 12. Launch set sure got a lot of freebies to make the purchase worthwhile. Better than getting grey imported sets bro.

This definitely is CN Model. Oneplus 12 is only launched in China at the moment.

Ask him to flash Oxygen OS before shipping out the phone. I think he would ask for additional Rm30 to flash to Oxygen os. Just pay a little to save all the headache.

*Most likely Oxygen OS would not be out yet because Global sets have yet to be launched.*
