The last time when everyone got 10x upgrade, we 100mbps user only got 8x, so it's quite unfair if we get to upgrade to 1gbps only this round.

Ya lor, we must fight for 2Gbps.

I would be content with 1.5Gbps. drool.gif

Good news for 800Mbps. 7 more months or less to go for upgrade. Looking forward to the 268% increase in speed.
*
Okay. Expect mine to be upgraded by August. yawn.gif

800 Mbps to 1 Gbps really wouldn't feel much difference.

😁Finally received call from Unifi on my existing 800mbps free speed upgrade.

I will be upgraded to 1gbps with all (price and contract period) remains unchanged. I just need to wait for the appointment to replace the device.

Try if this router can tag VLAN 500 on bridge mode so you don't need VLAN config on router anymore

Looks possible based on the UI
*
Yupe can.

I'm running dual WAN on my router. Bridge mode set up is pretty straight forward.

VOIP remains on the combo box. (Skyworth GN630V)

Hihi, can you teach how to setup bridge mode on this skyworth box? I tried to change the settings to bridge mode same like what you have shown but my deco failed to connect via PPPoE. Is there anything else to set at the skyworth box?

Wish to make this a pure ONU box only.

Thank you!
*
I'm no expert on this. Anyway, I'll share what I did and you try to emulate it and see if this would solve your issue.

1. Leave the LAN1 port empty as we need to use it to connect via LAN cable to your personal router.

2. Set the Skyworth combo box as your main router and connect it to the internet.

3. Login to your Skyworth combo box with IP 192.168.0.1 and go to the Network > WAN > select 'Mode: Bridge'

4. Connect using LAN cable from Skyworth combo box LAN1 port to your personal router WAN port.

5. Have a device connect to your Deco router and login to your TP Link Deco router IP (I'm not familiar with TP Link), set up Unifi PPPOE as usual.

6. After a while, internet connection should be established at this point.

For 3. After selecting mode: Bridge, the bottom part do i also choose Bridge: PPPoE_Bridged?
Yes correct.

After that I click confirm and restart the combo box. No need to restart the combo box. Then connect lan cable from wan port of Skyworth combo to Lan 1 Deco. Your Deco router, you pluck the LAN cable into WAN port (not LAN1 port) And setup from Deco using PPPoE.

I’ll try again and update here.

Thanks ya!

Received a call from TM, my 800mbps free upgrade will be further upgraded to 2Gbps instead of 1Gbps. The modem provided by TM can be changed to Bridge Mode?
*
Good to know. thumbsup.gif The equipment provided by TM is modem + router combo unit, can be set to Bridge Mode.

Currently how much you're paying monthly?

Seeing so many experiences problem with the black D-Link combo box, thus I'm willing to let it slide for the moment.

You don't have to use the combo ONR.
Old silver Huawei BTU still rock solid and working fine.

QUOTE(Cavino @ Oct 23 2024, 10:54 PM)
In August, I put the black Dlink 2.5GBE into bridge mode and it encountered the drop to 300Mbps. So I chunk it away and use back the Huawei Modem.

Now I try to upgrade the firmware to 2.0.3 that are supposed to resolve the issue.

So I chuck in the Dlink Bridge mode back and connect it to my Asus Router. The internet worked the same as Huawei...

Then I got stumped coz I forgot if I change the IP address of DLink router when we set it up first as router with address 192.168.1.1 (same as my Asus router). Then afterward, we change it to bridge mode. I am not sure but I think we likely change it back to 192.168.0.1 or whatever...I cannot remember.

So now I have the Dlink router still working as bridge to my Asus router. But I don't know how to access the router to update the firmware. I tried direct connect with cable to Dlink router and use the default 192.168.0.1 to access but cannot connect. I tried change the comp IP address to 192.168.0.2 wit mask 255.255.255.0 in case need use same IP segment. Cannot.

I tried to access the bridge using 192.168.0.1 while connected to Asus router (working with the bridge)...Still no connection. Now I am lost...how to access the bridge. How to find out what IP address is the Dlink router although my web history indicated it likely should be 192.168.0.1 but still no connection?

If the IP is correct, then how to access the bridge as I have tried accessing the IP address while connected to Asus router and also tried direct cable connect to bridge still cannot access.
*
If you haven't change anything on the DLink combo box, you can find the default IP, login details on the sticker at the bottom of the combo box.

However, if you have already tweaked the DLink combo box but can't remember your settings, you can always reset the combo box and start your setup again.

want to ask, where can we get the password for voip sip (the one like +60xxxxxxxx@ims.tm.net.my)? is it the same as unifi password?
*
Nope. Not same.

You need to ask the unifi installer for the VOIP password or you call technical support line.

Finally my free upgrade from 800mbps to 1Gbps has arrived. Initially predict July will be the month I can enjoy a speed bump, took them until December for it be offered.

Let's see whether the combo box/equipment they offered are of the better/updated ones.

hv u registered?
i also just recd this.

i had previously had a call talking about same thing, i believe.

only that the person mention something like u will get unifi mobile no., use 3 months, cancel anytime...

when i tried to ask questions, the line got bad, terminated.

this new offer doesn't say anything about unifi mobile which i dun need.

if plain upgrade to 1gbps, get new combo router, ok, i will go for it.
*
Ya. I did follow the link given and registered. There is a mentioned of 3 months free billing after submission.

I have not contact unifi or attempt to port out all these whiles.

We 800mbps users are pretty much the last batch of receiving free upgrade since late 2023.

From the look of it, there seems to be no catch.

Been years since I last setting up my internet on my own. Do I still have to call TM to check the password?.
*
Yes. You need to contact unifi customer service to obtain PPOE password, at the same time I would suggest you ask them your VOIP details & password as well.
