QUOTE(blackbox14 @ Sep 10 2024, 09:46 PM) Yup meant VPN Client not server. You can just use ubiquiti teleport which is their own wireguard, pretty sure even Unifi Express has it.That info helps a lot, thanks. I can narrow down the choices based on that and my budget now. UDM-SE is way over my budget, haha. Now as per what dev/numb said I need to make sure UCG-Ultra can even act as a Wireguard client. Otherwise it's ASUS for me. |

QUOTE(yenchenje @ Sep 10 2024, 10:32 PM) No, Ubiquiti is not willing to further optimize performance on PPPoE due to it being a dated protocol, their hardware is perfectly capable of it, people can pull up to 10GB on it but never via PPPoE afaik It doesnt matter if its dated, a lot of ISPs still use it even abroad. TM aint gonna change from it anytime soon either. They chose to use to not have a dedicated hardware for it and utilized CPU to handle it, its crazy that they only bumped the frequency of the CPU rather than completely upgrading it for their newest highest range UDM Pro Max.I feel the same with it, I tried to get into it once but in the end just went with Ubiquiti since I needed the CCTV for my parents, or else I'm honestly down to learn Mikrotik considering the amount of control it gives to the end user |

QUOTE(blackbox14 @ Sep 11 2024, 09:04 AM) Teleport is to set up a VPN Server, right? Its their own wireguard server and client. Either way even Express has VPN Server and Client capabilities. My use case would be as a VPN client, as in whatever existing VPN account I have I will apply it on router level. |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Jan 15 2025, 06:30 AM) well tax wasn't the issue. my point was, even when tally tax AND shipping, it was still WAY cheaper than from local shopee. That was my point really. Even Ubiquiti stuff the same ...Paid 200.21 US Dollars = RM 902.03 (total. shipping + customs all tallied already) If you check shopee, for the same damn thing is RM 1.7 - 1.8k Basically over priced buy local. Why so expensive? no idea. Hence why ordered amazon I just check, but for roughly same price as a single TPLINK Omada eap-773 (wifi7), you can instead get a TP-LINK DECO XE75 (2 PACK) wifi 6e instead. Or Rm600 for a single XE75. Up to you between the 2 which is worth it. I think most people would opt for the 6e since it's cheaper and is good enough. Wifi7 harder to benefit when not many clients support wifi7 just yet, despite having some neat improvements (MLO, higher throughput) What risk do you speak of? If you are referring to warranty, that i'm not sure. But so far the AP works fine, i did not have to claim any warranty for it |

QUOTE(Verblassen @ Apr 18 2025, 08:03 PM) I mean to throw away Unipi's crappy Dlink and use my router as a standalone. To date, I don't think there is an easy way to do that? https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4925452I'm using the sfp+ port now with an rj45 module. 😪 |
