Well he's awake and is looking into the artstation block

This is what I’m concerned about and Fakmi just confirmed it. Any ministry can request a website block to the ISP without any justification or process. Simply request, then ISP will block. But to unblock, have to go to tribunal and god knows how long the process would be doh.gif

Malaysia To Prepare Migrating To IPv6

https://www.lowyat.net/2024/325032/malaysia...rating-to-ipv6/

does IPv6 help track or identify those who black mouth the authority easier ?
*
Most if not all mobile operators already enabled IPv6 by default. For fixed line broadband, TM has IPv6 as an option if you want it enabled. I don’t know if other operators also has it as an option

Seeing some people on twitter defending this dumbass decision irks me. Even more on the replies.

Just found this site. Not sure if this helps if you want to know dns resolving speeds from your area. I disabled iCloud Private relay before doing the test

There's also
https://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm

small .exe you run on windows
*
Yes, but GRC does plain DNS lookup with no DOH, this online tool does that. GRC has DNSSEC option though. Lastly, the browser benchmark can be used by all OS, not just windows

Also begs the question why no or not much sound from the current opposition.

Maybe:
1. They don't even understand what's going on
2. They don't want the optics of supporting Pornography
3. They support the initiative, and (if?) when they are in power, they will "enhance" the blocking

42.190.XX is the worst TM ip range. upload/download speed is very limited even using TM local server and website to test and the ping is like +60~100ms to local TM server.  I don't know why this IP range behave liks this rclxub.gif

60.50.XX, 60.52.XX, 60.53.XX, 115.XX, 118.XX, 124.XX, 203.106.XX all have routing problem with ipv4 cloudflare server resulting in ~+40ms than normal 10-13ms latency to MY or SG cloudflare.

210.186.XX, 210.187.XX, 175.XX have no routing problem so far.
I'm on the same boat as you. Already got itchy hand to terminate my Unifi Fiber as my cotract already end and I paid more than the current subsriber with the same speed + this TM "Caste System" IP range slowing down my connection. Why can't TM network tech/engineer standardize for all their IPv4 range? Why need to have this VIP IP range and lousy IP range.  bangwall.gif

Using Digi with 5g modem is more stable in my area.
*
I'm getting 147.158.XX recently. Don't have routing issues for now

Good news. It's officially off the table

Fahmi says DNS rerouting plan off the table, opts for more public engagement

DNS redirection saga could cause M'sia to lose billions

I clap for Malaysia... Like I said, this kind of thing don't even discuss. They dare bulldoze it, this is the end result.

Don't forget the social media licensing and the kill switch still in the pipeline.
*
Social Media licensing, I'm not that worried. If all major social media ignore it, the government will malu sendiri. I'm hoping the giants will push back against this stupid effort. The biggest difference would be, if the social media is registered/licensed, they can be forced to censor whatever content the government deems unfit for Malaysians

The kill switch though, yes, I'm a bit more worried. If there comes a time when a tyrannical government gets in power and the people rise up against it, we will be affected, and it would be hard for us to communicate or get the real news. But what's stopping a tyrannical government from forcing the ISPs to kill the internet even without the kill switch law.
