QUOTE(PRSXFENG @ Sep 7 2024, 01:53 PM) problem: it is a 2 in one router Hmm I was thinking bridge mode + UCG Max setup. Better off with rb5009 with SFP? Any hope for the bug to be fixed?you need that fiber port there is a bridge mode, but it is bugged and randomly your speed drops to 300mbps if you still have your old modem, reuse it, max speed 940Mbps but it's worth it otherwise, go the advanced route with a SFP ONT Module and any router with SFP Port |

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Sep 9 2024, 07:52 AM) for youtube there was discussion that if you used an adblocker, the youtube would slow down if it detects that. I noticed that response lag on my tablet, sometimes it take 5-10 seconds before the video or site start loading. Symptoms gone after the u-turn.so initially i thought that was why youtube was slow. but then it was brought to my attention about the dns hijack. so then i suspected that could have been the recent reason for the slow down. i don't have proof for this since i'm not a full blown expert, but that is my guess based on the timeline when things got worse when browsing. issue went away after i use VPN.... guess that was further proof. QUOTE(yenchenje @ Sep 10 2024, 08:30 PM) As someone that's running Unifi full stack for my network, it's like a drug to me personally, once I get one thing I want more, that might also applies to you Is that because of software based processing in Ubiquiti?Considering you are quite technical from your conversation, Mikrotik might be your bread and butter, or even better, use OPNSense as your main and the rest just mix and match and DIY yourself Also from what I can gather, PPPoE on Ubiquiti is not as fast as maybe even the Archer C9, Unifi isn't that optimized to use PPPoE protocol and it's more suitable for using like iPoE, if you ever want to push more speed, that might also be a limiting factor. Currently my UDM SE can only pull around 850-870, max I've seen is 910-920 on my 1Gbps, but that might just be an OLT limitation on my side and might again DIFFER from you |

QUOTE(sadlyfalways @ Sep 11 2024, 06:54 AM) Yeah I’m switching back to ubiquiti too Where did you getting the UCG Max? Still waiting for it in SG store. I'm considering this or rb5009. But unbt network app is the main attraction for me to finally use unifi gateway and ap.Smart queues is enough to justify never reaching my 1gbps internet connection. And now with added censorship and hijacking, having multiple vpn connections active for different vlans and devices will be a godsend But I’m downgrading from SE to cloud gateway max. Hopefully performance will be okay with my gigabit + sqm + ids idp |

unifi app used to have upgrade to 1Gb at RM189, now I only see option to 2Gb at RM319. Is because I'm still in SWU 3.0 contract?

QUOTE(kwss @ Oct 29 2024, 09:30 AM) Do you mean you get SWU 300Mbps but you are getting 500Mbps on speedtest? TM system is messy. There messages saying upgraded/updated but still the account showing the SWU 300 package name. Consumer will get confused at some point whether it is 300 or 500.If your account is still showing 300 Mbps SWU, then just keep quiet and be steady. TM use a combination of HQoS profile on both OLT and BNG to cap speed. However I noticed any of them alone have problem with accurately capping the speed, which suggest their gear is undersized or lousy to begin with. Most likely explanation is they forget to adjust your OLT profile from 800Mbps to 300Mbps ![]() |

QUOTE(eternity4av @ Oct 30 2024, 06:30 PM) so i guess my plan also downgraded to this which is swu 3.0 300mbps but is 500mbps, may i know ur monthly fees? For SWU 3.0 300Mbps plan, the price is RM119. Most of us downgraded to 300 for cheaper price and 6 months waiver because we know it will be upgraded to 500Mbps. Paying 119 for 500Mbps is good deal. Otherwise I will be paying RM218 for 800Mbps (after free upgrade). |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Nov 10 2024, 04:24 PM) It's almost instant usually Agree. I wrote to them about my package name still stuck at swu 300. They just replied and said according to their system it is unifi home 500 pro upgrade, that's it nothing else. I had to reply again saying that's the reason I contacted support, can you do something about it.I will live chat them again Some of their CS are just plain bad at their job |

QUOTE(StuartLee2015 @ Nov 10 2024, 10:48 PM) My house is 20x80. My wifi adapter is one with extendable antenna and i place it pretty high up and away from anything metallic or solid object. Sometimes, it can get to 80% but then drops to around 75 to 70% (estimates) but never below 65%. Do avoid usb based wifi adapter, the performance is crap. |

For existing SWU with just less than a year contract left, will they allow to take new SWU like the 1Gb plan?
