while changing better oil or better parts wont do much different on our 1.3 Economic car.
*

actually in long term will have differences...

most of the engine oil used SM spec (new spec, 2004 onwards)... but p2 engine oil used SL spec (old spec, 2004-2001)... SM spec have better protection than SL spec and some of the SM spec engine oil classify as ILSAC (Energy Conserving)...

even the castrol GTX (mineral oil) used SM spec also... wondering y p2 using old spec? sweat.gif

the only ways are use big philip screw driver or small metal ruler (with some round curve) to open the cap...

Happy new year to all the myvi owners, although i don't own a myvi, i hope to urge all myvi owners be careful while driving around cause today on my way back to perak from KL, i saw one myvi was devastated at the highway. the scene was horrific and i felt sorry as it happen just a day after new year. condition of the car well, roof was total ripped off from the structure frame, so please fellows, be careful and don't speed while driving, hope everyone would understand my good deeds which i'm trying to convey

Havent logged on for sometime, and lo and behold, racial overtones....

Its so SAD to see that you guys like to shoot down "races" like it doesn't meaning anything at all and call yourselves Malaysians,
PATHETIC. FYI, Im very PROUD to say Im Indian, Chinese as well as Eurasian, that makes me about a full Malaysia as I want to be.

Guys -
Kindly (hopefully) rephrase your words, shooting down minority races is not what a forum should be or must be used for.
Your "choice words" are not only hurtful but disgraceful as well. What do you tend to gain from this?

My Father's CRV, 1996, sold for RM60K last August, and the new owner said, wah Uncle your car like new lar!
My Dad as well as my brothers and I look after our cars like GOLD, cuz a good maintained car shows how the owner is.

Have a crappy New Year guys..... unsure.gif

wat i'm talking is those un-educated indian babarians la~
for those which educated they know how 2 deal wit it nicely compare wit those babarians only know how 2 shout here n there looking for a fight~
it reminds me of my accident at butterworth wit tis babarian driving a saga n hit my car on my right side n then come down from his car shouting at me like a shlt s he saw my kl num plate n neva even care for his own family[his wife n a baby only] while my car is fully loaded wit all guys[includin my supervisor n my site manager] shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

SL or SM already overkill for the engine already.

Use 20c to open. Do not drop the caps into engine bay as the caps are black for stock battery and are a real headache to find. The space underneath the car can ngam ngam clear ur nose if car is not lowered.

my 15k service is done in P2 authorised centre the AUTOCRAFT at behind Cambell soup factory. this is recommended by fren who saying this centre is very reliable.

previously i was like u, wanted to outside services, but since our car still new, why dun we just take advantage of the warranty...

while changing better oil or better parts wont do much different on our 1.3 Economic car.

unless your car have been heavliy modded lol... then no point going back.

just my 2cents
*
My 2 cents, how much can u save on the servicing anyway? P2 oil also not that expensive compared to outside. Labour rm30 for basic service i think is quite ok lah considering that u can ask them to do minor minor things along as well. As long as u keep ur services as basic as possible and no crap (battery water, windscreen wash, batt terminal protector) its quite cheap wat. The brake discs and calipers' value that I claimed i think exceeds the labour fees too smile.gif

actually the market price for p2 engine oil 4L is RM52++ (end user price)...
labour charges for basic service below RM10 at outside...
they earned Rm20+ from engine oil and charge RM25++ for labour only...
total earned RM50 from us just for 30-60minits service... it quite unreasonable for me sweat.gif
if i want to do major repair which required to dismantle engine parts during warranty period, i will going there...

depend on the car manufacture date on the geran...

if geran showing 2007, have the discount...
if geran showing 2008, dont have discount...

if u wont sell ur car within 10 years, it still worth for to get last year car...
car depreciate year by year around RM4k-5k for myvi (i think so)... so the discount RM3k is quite reasonable for a new year which may depreciate soon...
