Mobikom 018 was owned by Telekom Malaysia. It used 018 prefix in 1990s then discontinued. Telekom Malaysia acquired Emartel 013 and renamed it TMTouch, then acquired TRI/Celcom 019, so 013 & 019 merged to form TM International which was later known as Celcom Axiata (demerger from Telekom Malaysia).

Vincent Tan divested Mutiara (Digi Swisscom) in late 1990s due to financial crisis 1997. In 2000s he set up U Mobile and was given part of 018 (not all) numbers.

Cool, the part where TM own the Mobikom and Emartel owner is what I didn't know. the swisscom divest is also didn't know. but I know he set up UM. btw, during TRI period, there is one big dispute by German Telekom aka Deutsche Telekom.

I have been with Celcom/Digi for more than 20 years.
Originally Celcom (013/019) then MNP to Digi 8 years ago.
CelcomDigi App now shows 8 years only.

Since i changed plan it turn into 5 years, used over 20years on digi.

Got any special loyalty bonus or gift for being with them after all these years....

I see got 17 years with same Telco....

Got, less benefit like gut all freebie extra gb all gone, superlonglife removed unless you get from bos. My prepaid best offer so trash i move to hotlink.

You are right. It is slow. It takes 3 seconds for my balance and validity expiry date to appear.

loyalty is the cheapest currency in CD.

Loyalty have no value everywhere.... That's the sad part & hard truth....

So better port over those Telco giving better deals....

Better deal could be poorer quality or service ... sometimes better status quo than simply port ...

of course, the wise choice is to use the telco which give you best bang for the buck

But normally when port out... Would do research first... If the new Telco is okay in term of coverage, speed, level of congestion etc.
