The CelcomDigi merged network at IOI Mall Puchong is a lot worse than prior to merger from Celcom users perspective. I used to get both better speed and signal strength inside the mall compared to Maxis users. Now getting very poor services.

The toilet next to Watson/Guardian/Mix Store used to have full 4G+ on Celcom and no service on Maxis. Now, I have no service on both telco...

Your phone does not support 4G+? or the tower refused to connect you with 4G+?

seems like they have been merging digi and celcom network

my wife's workplace was upgraded since last month too, but no difference.

wife have both celcom one ultra AND digi prepaid edisi kuning, but at her workplace, she still has to hotspot with digi. lol.
*
If the location is still on the table despite beyond the "planned deadline" means the process is still not completed. I am still connected to Celcom (not the merged CelcomDigi) while in Cyberjaya

interesting
How do you tell which enb belongs to which Telco?
*
CellMapper is the best for Digi user, the network integration is only for 4G and 2G networks are 5G is belong to DNB.

So this is applicable when phone connected to 4G only

Digi users will see MY CELCOM at the app bar in merged area, and see Digi in not merged area

Celcom is a bit tricky, I will recommend to use NetMonster app as the interface is much intuitive. If you are in Central and North Peninsula Malaysia and East Malaysia, if eNb is 5 digits means connected to CelcomDigi, 6 digits means Celcom

If you from South and East Coast, it is a bit tricky as even CelcomDigi will have 6 digits, I would recommend to look at the EARFCN value, as well as all those neighbor cells underneath. If digit like 1850, 3350, or 525/524 appears means the network had merged

Thank you for sharing these.

So this Cellmapper screenshot shows Digi at the app bar. But, it's EAFRCN is 1850. Does that mean it's still not merged, or already merged?

I am on celcomdigi kuning, only recently ported in.

As said by Luqman, yes. Your phone correctly reported your home telco unlike many phones like Samsung and Xiaomi that did not which you can use that loop hole to identify whether the tower is integrated.

You are indeed connected to a CelcomDigi tower, putting your SIM card on Samsung and Xiaomi phone and open CellMapper will show MY CELCOM instead

Try use Netmonster app to see neighbor cells, u should see EARFCN from original Celcom network such as 1650, 3150, 375, and 3600

I think they also have merged their spectum so you'll see intracarrier aggregation. Like Celcom's Band 3 + Digi's Band 3.
*
It is technically not intra-carrier aggregation yet. So far I had only seen real intra-carrier aggregation deployed at Penang Island and Indera Mahkota Pahang.

for example, if to deploy intra-carrier aggregation for B3, the EARFCN for CelcomDigi cannot be both 1850 and 1650. Must either (1850 pair with 1652) or (1650 pair with 1848) after removing guardband

So if I am connected to merged network, these are some of the EARFCN I should see on NetMonster based on what has been shared in the recent posts: 1650, 3150, 375, 3600, 3350, or 525/524

Oh wow, i have learned so much today. Thank you for sharing.

This is what net monster reports on my Pixel 7. out of curiosity, I have also included a quick 4G and 5G speed test as well as comparison. They both are done to the same test server (Digi Malaysia). This is on the edge of Ampang next to forest area.

I am impressed that
- 4g speed can reach more than 200 Mbps. ( Have also been told that the Pixel 7 modem is not too good, so perhaps Qualcomm modem would be even better)
- 4g upload speed is higher than 5G
*
Basically to keep it simple
Digi EARFCN was 3524, 1850, 524, 3350
Celcom EARFCN was 3600, 1650, 375, 3150

The integrated network means the antenna will broadcast both Celcom and Digi spectrum so user could enjoy better speed due to wider road. If you are in an area where the network is not merged, it is highly unlikely to see another telco EARFCN unless your phone 4G signal is very weak as it is trying to scan and connect to all available signal (including by other telco)

Anyway just rechecked my message

The SMS is never accurate. I only started to enjoy the upgraded network 3 days after the SMS. The worst thing is Digi network planner messed up things here, Digi in my house has about 5 months hardly connect to 4G+ but stuck with 900MHz 4G due to their poor planning. So literally stuck with 5Mbps 4G speed unless the phone suddenly reconnect to other frequencies (luck based). The problem was only resolved when Digi switch on Celcom frequencies (the moment CelcomDigi network was truly integrated)

Celcom was not affected as Celcom is the one they planned to deprecate here

Ok, my location is back in the table. We’ll see next week after they’re done. when it’s really done, the network will then be showing celcomdigi right?

Wait what do you mean they planned to deprecate celcom at your place instead of merging?
*
Equipment from one telco will be deprecated and another one will be upgraded to support the traffic. Don't worry as the new network will continue to broadcast 2 networks' frequencies together, which means the network capacity will actually improved given there will be more towers after the merger

Prior to CelcomDigi merge , Digi customer service is the best Customer Service in 4 big telcos from my personal experience. But since the merging the quality dropped alot 🤡
*
Customer Service from Celcom users perspective had not changed much. It had been worse than Maxis since more than a decade ago... But yeah, now Digi got the Celcom CS gene, getting worse now

Btw, CelcomDigi seems to had shutdown the 1950-1960MHz of B1 FDD pair here in Puchong/PJ.

No more 375 EARFCN, left 500 or (524 or 425 on certain sites)

Is CelcomDigi better than Maxis now ? Anyone using both?
*
I'm using Celcom and Maxis in Klang Valley. Outdoor coverage less matters nowadays because it is usually covered by DNB 5G. Indoor coverage wise I feel the integrated network has slightly edge up to Maxis 4G coverage at the moment.

Rural coverage wise Celcom 4G still better than Maxis, but not as significant as few years back then.

However it is still area dependent, the 4G speed inside KLCC and LRT Kelana Jaya line for Maxis is still better than Celcom. The rest of the places where Celcom and Maxis both have indoor antenna, Celcom tends to be faster based on most of my tests, and also way less likely to get congested (maybe due to less users???). I'll say ny Celcom is a lot usable than Maxis when having big events

This is because Maxis is the only one telco (?) deployed 2CA inside the KJL , Celcom only deploy 1 band (iinm is Band 1 SISO)
But for the MRT Kajang and Putrajaya line Celcom and Digi already MOCN , but for PYL the line is quite not stable
*
I actually got 3CA on Maxis B7-3-1 on KJL (they use pRRU, so each equipment is actually an individual cell, much larger capacity), Celcom is actually on a B8-1 2CA, SISO DAS, nevertheless, the speed still impressive, over 100Mbps during off peak.

Wait to see what CelcomDigi integration will bring to commuters there

Is Edisi Kuning still operating on the Digi network, or has it now merged into and using the CelcomDigi network instead of being separated by blue or yellow?
*
Edisi kuning is Digi, edisi biru is Celcom

Whether the network is merged is location dependent, not SIM. There's technically no CelcomDigi SIM or network at the moment. The so called CelcomDigi network is actually just that the antenna simultaneously broadcast both Celcom and Digi signal and u can use the combined bandwidth. Just like the guess WiFi on our home router

They claimed two thirds of their network had merged, so far I've been getting the merged network in Selangor and KL except for southern Selangor beyond Puchong and Putra Heights

Oasis Digi is really not stable, even inside PADINI. But somehow Celcom works completely fine, connected to the same cell. Swap SIM and notice is telco issue, that's why I still think Celcom and Digi still kinda separated despite in those merged areas

Indoor coverage wise is really area dependent. I'll rank in terms of speed based on my experience currently

IOI Mall Puchong
1. Maxis
2. CelcomDigi (Celcom used to be better than Maxis, but the recently integrated CelcomDigi both speed and signal wise a lot poorer)

IOI Mall Putrajaya
1. Digi (performance is way better when peak hour)
2. Maxis
3. Celcom (easily getting congested)

Pavilion Bukit Jalil
1. Celcom
2. Maxis
3. Digi (somehow not even have 4G+)

Sunway Pyramid
1. CelcomDigi
2. Maxis

SunwayGeo
1. CelcomDigi (Maxis no signal in the basement)

Bloomsvale OKR
1. Maxis (CelcomDigi no signal in carpark and ground floor)

Pearlpoint OKR
1. CelcomDigi (Maxis extremely weak signal in carpark, groundfloor very poor as well)

Cannot say much about other shopping malls as I am not a frequent visitor

Maxis network was heavily congested when I was at Sunway Pyramid last weekend. Couldn’t even send WhatsApp messages.
*
I think Maxis is just having too many customers here. They had deployed all B7 B3 B1 for indoor coverage already, which is similar to CelcomDigi B7 B7 B1 (CelcomDigi does not even deploy another two B3 for Sunway Pyramid indoor coverage)

Adding another B8 won't really solve the capacity problem, just gonna see what they can do about it. Honestly, the new Sunway Pyramid centralized antenna has been improving Maxis performance by a lot, probably due to the 2x2 MIMO capability. Just gonna see how they go, there are probably way too many Maxis subscribers here, it is either U Mobile or Maxis as the first network that will stop working in crowded places around here

Digi is still SISO Band 1 only (yes, not even 3 7 8) but according to Digi they shd have upgraded it to 2T2R according to their TSSR report
Wonder will they use pRRU like Maxis for integration

Wow, is this confidential? TSSR is supposed to be under P&C right
