Wel well, Rashford missed training because he is ill and is doubtful for the game. What are your thoughts?

everyone feeling good for tonight? biggrin.gif

Based on Manchester United's record this season against teams in the bottom half of the table :

Wolves 1-0
Burnley 1-0
Brentford 2-1
Sheffield United 2-1
Fulham 1-0
Luton 1-0

Manchester United to win. By 1 goal. Probably 1-0.
Hoped to be proven wrong.

Apart from the mistake for the goal, we're not too bad.

2nd half should swap Martial with Hojlund to capitalize all the overlaps from the flanks.
Martial not providing the tip of the spear.

Based on the sentiment within the club, I doubt Ten Hag is near a sacking decision.
Biggest factor of course will be Sir Jim's direction after taking over the footballing side of things, with the new CEO and DOF. If at all, decision will be taken at that point in time.

Thank god Chelsea sama bodoh like us 🤣

Chelsea is different level de.
If United are sitting where Chelsea are, which is in the bottom half of the table on 12th, the entire fan base would be in meltdown.

Especially after how much they spent.

Before Bournemouth game i would say ETH job is safe.. but next is UCL final group game then liverpool. Very crucial. Biggest factor should be result on pitch but honestly doubt any replacement can do much also. Tough time for united
*
The UCL game against Bayern is meaningless for me. We are already out of the UCL, just that mathematically we haven't yet as a fan base alfully accepted it. Not holding much hope for a result at Liverpool.

But then again it's been a strange season.

Do it.
If Salah wrecks us, at least you got your points to console yourself.

Chill on Villa, we will see at the end of the season. This is only a snapshot in time. Let's not forget they got smashed 5-1 on opening day and pundits were piling on. Now other teams are stuttering and they catch form.

See Newcastle. Suddenly, media have them in crisis. That's how much of a difference injuries can make and United already played half the season with a full Medical room.

At least this season sometimes can enjoy the sun and sometimes go back into the cave. Not like Chelsea fans, cave is home.

A 1-0 loss against Bayern and totally out of Europe.
Pretty much the expectation I had after the recent run of results.

Brace for Liverpool.

Do you guys accept that we don’t deserve to lose the latest Bayern match? I don’t accept this statement from ETH. Regardless we deserve to 4th in the table. We committed sufficient mistakes to exit as losers. I’m thinking about the need for him to defend the players. At one end cannot thrown everyone under the bus (poor sausages making £300k per week are sensitive beings) but on the other end fans actually pay money (in some way or other) to see this kind of crap. There needs to be more accountability than just turning up every day doing the same “bounce back work harder” narrative leh. It’s as if they have only been working at 5% at the beginning. Pay the fans back the ticket and travelling costs, reduce the salary la.
*
Club doesn't like the manager calling out the players. Mourinho has already been made Exhibit A.
Not surprised if they inserted a clause into all managers contracts after.

Mr £350k per week needs every cent to feed the poor kids for his MBE.

QUOTE(Ask.Property @ Dec 13 2023, 09:19 PM)

ETH out because he cause so many injuries to the players!
*
Suddenly, even those who are not injured are down with illness. Maybe virus infection.

yea, but chelsea and RM supported their new managers with transfer war chests and getting players at decent price (for chelsea during roman era)... what our managers get? last min purchases with bloated purchase price... lol... and only 3 signings per season..   if pep getting this kind of support, he would have get sacked on his second season dy... lol... currently, i think only klopp can make use of our squad under very tight budget and also lack of support from the board..
*
Let's not forget Klopp finished 8th in his first season (United fans would go berserk calling for his sacking if this happened here) and were 17 points behind the league leaders in his second. What he got was the backing of the club in transfers and time from the fans to make the changes.

Martial sale was blocked by Joel Glazer as Martial was Joel Glazer's favourite player.

QUOTE(tontolou @ Dec 14 2023, 05:15 PM)
LVG had an identity when he came. It was a snorefest, but it somehow worked. But what happened? Oh right, cause hitting the clubs commercial cause it was 'boring'.

Now? What identity can he create with the team he has? Not even 3 seasons to implement, but wants the manager to get sacked.

What about those players that was brought in and want to  ETH? Will they be the next toxic players and undermine the manager after ETH?
*
QUOTE(tzxsean @ Dec 14 2023, 05:20 PM)
Aston Villa and Tottenham's new managers were able to implement a clear identity for team play in shorter time and lesser budget

the results may not be sustainable for them due to squad depth but at least the fans know the vision

I do feel that this point itself is a very constructive criticism on ETH

and I have not called for ETH to be sacked

I just feel like ETH has more than reasonable immunity to criticism for what happened to the previous managers
*
I think ETH has his fair share of criticism. See all the news around sacking him. And I think this is shared among the fanbase as well.

Personally, I'm still alright with it. Do I personally see an identity forming? Yes.
The game against Bournemouth was terrible I think for everyone but I saw enough in that game for me in terms of what we were trying to do. We started the season attempting to play out from the back and then losing our ball playing CBs. In the Bournemouth game, I saw Amrabat dropping between the CBs to be the pivot player in distribution. Simple and effective. Sure, we had lots of control but couldn't generate high quality chances which is another problem.

So I'm in the support the manager camp. Though I can respect people thinking otherwise as well.

And on the rumours on Potter, I don't see what Potter can offer that ETH doesn't apart from an English passport. Sacking ETH for Potter would be terrible and I hope rumours stay rumours.
