Hmm, I went in 2018, what you describe sounds exactly like my experience, just that that time prices cheaper than now before covid and inflation and myr depreciation buying power drop. oh and also Thanos family still incharge of kedah that time. cant believe how fast things can go downhill under a certain party mgmt.

Most of the langkawi development was develop under Mukhriz time, when PAS took over in year 2020 and nothing much improvement there during covid time.

Langkawi 3 star below is cater for local tourist, mainly family type, with the high inflation everyone has lesser money to spend around. I'm not surprise with the low booking rate as KV also suffer a downturn in consumer spending.

China tourist has drop tremendously because their government is trying to restrict them travelling abroad, some measurement like reject passport renewal and asking travel agency to promote more china domestic tour. But China tourist main destination is not langkawi, they prefer KK and Semporna.

All i can say is the state government refusing to co-operate with federal government to work together on this matter, even Tiong raise this matter at the parliament before, restrict here and there might as well go Thailand travel.
