Any recommended brand of washing machine? Nowadays, there are so many brand to choose from e.g. LG, Panasonic, Sharp, Toshiba. Please recommend the one with durable and long lasting and also affordable...

Front loader vs top loader, what is the different?

i been using Toshiba for 10 years+... bought new one front loading too

only minimal repairs and maintenance, good value and quality.

only diff for me is front loading has temperature controls so let's see if it cleans better.

I uses Panasonic, quite reliable. More that 5 years usually. Spare parts is easy to get from their customer service. Usually I upgrade because of features and not because it broken down.
But 1 word of advise is that the quality is usually reflected in the price.

I'm using electrolux and it's been 5 years without any problem so far. It's a front load with washer + dryer combo. Just make sure don't overload or under load. Drying would take longer time but it's gentler to the fabric. I only use dynamo color care and Amway detergent.

I also vote for LG Front Load, been using since 2020 to replace our Panasonic FL. No Unbalanced load error, Panasonic was very prone to going unbalanced in at least 6 out of 10 washes.

Prior to Panasonic, we were using Europa which lasted 12 - 13 years (belong to my parents)

LG is the only washer in the market with 6 Motion Wash and in Malaysian market, one of the two brands to offer Direct Drive washers with Stainless Steel Lifters in the drum vs rubber or plastic material by competitor.

Our washing machines run every other day, and on weekends 2 - 3 loads back to back.

Hitachi had direct drive as well, but harder to find and expensive.

My experience with Panasonic has not been good. Bought one of their higher end models (top load inverter 16kg) about 4 years ago. Soft close door hinge fail just after warranty even though the the machine is not used that often. RM300+ just to have the door dampeners replaced.

Now the drum seems wobbly with unbalanced error.. suspension is probably giving way.

Stay clear of Panasonic. Thought they would be better than the korean brands but it doesn't seem to be the case. I'd probably buy Electrolux or some other better brand for my next machine.

I think in general, Panasonic quality is not what it used to be. Bought a Panasonic inverter aircon earlier this year as well. My house use Daikin only before this but after 14 years, had to replace one of them. Tried Panasonic since some claim the aircons are good. Got some weird sounds less than a year in use. Technician said normal. The plastic shell also seems cheap. No confidence that the unit will last as long as my Daikins.

Just bought a Samsung front load (13kg) that comes with AI-features and shit. Haven't fully utilised yet but hopefully it won't break down soon because of its hi-tech features..

Mine I think is this model, will need to recheck. 10.5kg without Turbowash function.

For blankets or bed sheet, how do you load it? if its in a ball, will be unbalanced but so far mine did not.

For bedsheets, I load them as two separate pieces and always try to put two bedsheets at one time.

For duvet pr mattress protector, have to do scissor fold as per in manual.

Also, please check the balancing of the machine. It should be level from side to side and front to back. When it was first installed, I did have unbalanced issues as the machine was not properly seated on the pedestal washer below, and its difficult to have one person to adjust when the machine is seated on a pedestal washer or pedestal for that matter.

So far, 4 years of trouble free washing and we use it daily and sometimes two or three times over the weekend. Much more happier with this machine than the Panasonic FL it replaced.

is LG TV2724SV9K a good buy for top load washing machine? seems this is the most high end top load model that LG had for now (direct drive motor, full stainless steel drum, etc.
