Hi,
Anyone link the Gxbank with grab to get the 6 months free subscription? Is it we must subscribe to 1 year first then only get rebate back the 6 months? Thank you
*
you have to pay out of pocket first, and only they will reimburse you month by month.

is it need link with grab app (from grab app finance link with gx bank) which i dont see and unable to do so yet
and then subscribe to grab unlimited, and can cash back into gx bank?  hmm.gif

updated: just link my Grab with GX Bank in Grab App Finanace tab (830am)
i have RM4.90 / month grab unlimited plan active, now didnt see any cash back RM 4.90 or free 6 months sweat.gif although during linking it stated got free 6 months grab unlimited
*
if u read the fineprint, the cashback for 4.90 will take a while to reflect.

Today got RM4.90 cashback in my Gxbank account.

Seems like they reimburse you rm4.90 per month for 6 months (rm29.40) after you pay lump sump rm27 for 6 months grab unlimited.
*
do you have to permanently link your grab to gx bank though?

Which means that you have to use your gx bank balance to pay for grab spending

3% reward daily?

means if I parked RM1000 I get RM30 daily and RM900 a month?

Am I correct or just dumb?
*
The latter I guess tongue.gif

It's 3% per annum.

mentally unsound is a general exclusion in most of the contract in Malaysia.

Yea.. grocery got 1%.. ok lah tu

Petrol also included.

I think it's good if you are lazy to think about which card to use.

Else, there are better card out there that offers cashback for grocery, petrol etc.

would really love to see some math demo that using CC (for the payment) while keeping the cash in Gxbank for the 3% VS using debit card to get 1% cashback can give more.
*
No need to overdo the math, the 3% p.a interest is negligible for the 30 days.

Just use whatever credit card (or debit card) that gives the highest cashback.

From the shared merchant discount rate after minus 1% cashback cost. More profit in the future after GXB lower the 1% rebate gradually.

Close to 0% MDR for debit card, they are bleeding badly

The merchant discount rate is more than 1%?

So if use cash, the shop gets the merchant discount portion to themselves??
*
The shop will have to pay MDR to the merchant acquirer (the bank that provides the terminal) in return for having the option to receive card payments.
Few of the payment options available:

Cash- no fees, duh
Debit card- very low MDR, <1%
Credit card- higher MDR, >1%

As the MDR is what funds the card reward, similar pattern can be seen in the benefits for each segment brows.gif

Using cash- no benefit
Using debit card- very little, close to 0 benefit
Using credit card- getting nerfed badly this few years as BNM has reduced the MDR for credit card

Of course, the merchant is not going to pay for the MDR, so they will raise the price of their product.

So if you are paying by cash, you are the biggest loser as you are indirectly subsidizing for the credit card user.

Back to GX card, they are definitely not earning enough MDR to cover their 1% cashback, hence this is not sustainable and is only a temporary measure to increase their user base.
