I dont understand why we need to go to their office to do the transfer when we can sign up online or over the phone. Are they purposely making it difficult to change provider?

You can do online. But slower. Faster = walk in. That's what TM customer service told me.

Nope.. I got the transfer code from MAxis on whatsapp but TM insist that transfer can only be done at TM point only.

So you went to TM to get the transfer report no. Maxis just over the phone and they whatsapp to me the transfer report no. Now have to go to TM point to submit the transfer report no. Malaysia biggest broadband company cannot handle this simple thing online. perhaps purposely make it difficult to change provider.

Yes for TM, transfer ID need to submit physically to Tmpoint and do thumbprint. All need to be done within 10 days otherwise it will lapse and you have to reapply.
It is all done for the reason you and I already know.
