Does Axia has lots of roof leaking problem? My niece 5 years old Axia already leaking. Thinking to buy an Axia for my kid when he got his license, but now am in doubt. I have owned many Proton cars also don't have this kind of problems and older too.

My family has a 7-year-old Axia and it has no leaking problems. Like ktek said it's definitely not an Axia issue

Long time lurker on other forums but new to posting.

Since the 2023 axia is pretty new and maybe majority of the new owners are too young or ignorant about lowyat group. I just wanna list a few notable observations about my own Axia, as in today 19/11/23, already 6500km of Sabah roads (Mainly KK but the 1st 4 months I was in Labuan with monthly balik rumah kk) iykyk la.

1 Major concern so far before my 1st service @ 10k km at the end of this month.

- My rear reverse sonar isn't working unless the front parking sensor/sonar is on.

It's been telling me intermittently about malfunction or stop function 2 months after the 1k inspection but I thought it's the front sensor ones because I often forget to off it. Maybe the rear 3rd party led bulbs are affecting the sonar sensor? But I bought the canbus bulbs one, should be no problem.

And a minor concern, the car suspension seems to be on the softest side. It's too noticeable to me because I installed a rally style hard mudflaps and it's basically so hung low, scraping whenever I bring a full load (go figure)

So far no problems, maybe the occasional outside odour entering the car (heard a 2nd hand story about 1 ativa owner soad at SC saying his car smelling like petrol) 🤷🏽‍♂️

good job bro.
no requirement to use canbus led kot.
anyway i think unnecessary to switch off parking sensor.

smell enter cabin yes the circulation vent is installed by hand.
so part of the double side tape did not stick well to sponge.
need to open out dashboard to access it.
else we seal completely to wiper cowl inlet hole.

Just wondering, have your mum bought her new Axia yet? No more waiting list. If you don’t mind a 2023 new Axia G, RM500 discount, only red and white is available. Axia X and SE is more popular. I booked a AxiaG last week and I should get mine on Thursday or Friday.

Anyone can share how to use perodua smart link?
I downloaded the smart link in Xiaomi mi 10t, turned on USB debugging and connected with Bluetooth and the Headunit still cannot detect my phone.

Tried other USB cable and all failed. I'm on Android 14.

Received my new Axia last week. One annoying thing, when in reverse gear in the car cabin there’s a beeping sound like the commercial vehicle. New Axia 2023 does not have this sound feature.

Will give more info when I have more time. Will share the difference between my Axia G 2018 vs Axia G 2024.

The ride on the new Axia has improved significantly not as hard as my old Axia. Cabin is quieter too. Maybe because it is still new.

I only listed some of the less obvious differences between both cars. Please take note I didn’t include the transmission for obvious reason. Different accessories are given free depending which dealers one buy the car from. My BIL 2023* new Axia has different accessories compared to mine.

*his 2023 Axia has no cabin reverse gear warning when reversing.

Btw please give allowance for any technical name mistakes I’m just an old layman guy.

Guys, want to check here. I have a 2017 Axia AV. When driving whenever the aircond compressor/fan/notsure kicks in, the engine sounds rough and there is a slight loss of power. Is that normal? I drove a 2014 Axia before but never experience something like this.

Biggest changes are its new DNGA (Daihatsu New Global Architecture) platform which is lighter, with increased chassis rigidity giving it better handling and safety and

D-CVT (Dual-mode continuously variable transmission), replacing the four-speed automatic transmission. This new transmission used in the latest Ativa, Myvi, and Alza is a split-gear CVT system that incorporates a gear drive into the CVT belt drive system to offer improved acceleration with less noise and better fuel efficiency.

firstly check your throttle body. service it, if never done before.
also worth checking your spark plugs if they are not changed for long.

Hi guys, Im planning to send my Axia G (4 years old with 25k milage) to normal workshop instead of Perodua SC for basic engine oil change.

What is the recommended engine oil and filter, I'm planning to get from Shopee. What's the standard rate for labor charge for basic oil change?

I rarely do long distance driving. Currently I'm looking at Caltex and Shell since budget under 150 including filter.

I see there's a lot of 0w20 Perodua oil below RM100 in Shopee, is it counterfeit product?

Get a bonnet insulation if your car doesn’t have it. Congratulations on your new ride.

Guys, I received my car. I desperately need a tint for this weather. I would want something within the max allowed percentage and block as much heat as possible. What brand/type woild you recommend and what's the expected price?

I noticed that depending where ones buy Perodua cars different dealers give different “free” accessories. My Axia came with free tint and the sales advisor told me it is 3M elite tint. It’s ok, I’m not complaining since it is free. I have installed better tint in my other cars. My BIL received a tint voucher from for his car.

Finding the stock speaker kinda sucks. I'm planning to D.I.Y and change to better speaks.

Reading the radio spec sayings it is 20W x 4
I'm hoping the stock radio has a decent amplifier so that changing the speakers going to give a significant improvement. Any input one these guys?

I'm convinced. I am going to D.I.Y add tint on my own. If it fails it fails. Otherwise I learn I save money 💰 and add a new skills.

Hi, any new axia owner can advise if the interior seat can all be lay down flat? so that a small foldable or inflatable bed can be place inside? Can also share what are the inner dimension when its flat?
*
bro you buy car without knowing what the car can do / can not do?
for hatchbacks, sedans or compact cars, not many have a flat back after laying down the seats. Most will have a slight incline upwards from the boots. Most likely only honda cars can lay flat cuz they have good space management.

can don't give stupid advices like this ma?
those online tint won't last, also specs probably are shit, also don't give advices like tint dark as hell..
good tints may be black but it is only on one side, block ppl from viewing inside from the outside but able to see from inside to outside
shit tints online maybe be dark both in and out. at night will reflect back the interior only. can't see outside one.
there's a reason why things are priced at such amount. you pay for what you get
RM 30 tints, cheap but shit quality, can't last and later diy will be a hassle to do
RM 800 still considered cheap for a tint, but may last longer and less issue, no bubbling if the installer is good

I, too noticed this New Axia the speakers or the sound system is worse than the 1st generation Axia. This new Axia sounds system lack bass and treble. May upgrade later if I cannot tahan anymore. Overall the car cabin is quieter than my old Axia. I’m still researching what speakers to upgrade.

yeah the bolded line is not hinting him to go as black as he can at all..
there are light tints available that are can block heat and still be good.
being dark and blocking light doesn't = heat rejection
there are more to tints then just to go for dark..
why not educate him on infos like in the article instead of just diy?

Guys, sent my car for servicing (1st Gen Axia). Soon after service, I noticed that the RPM dropped drastically. Sometimes it goes to as low as 500 - 600. For the first time, I can feel the car shaking. At one time, I couldn't even start my car.

My service was done at the Perodua service center. This round, I've changed my spark plugs and they also added additives or something if I heard it correctly. Can someone suggest what could have gone wrong? I saw an online mention that resetting the throttle body could help.

Dulu I changed new spark plugs for my car, it happen like that, RPM dropped and shaking. I went back to the shop, they said my coil is the problem and immediately quote me for new coils. I asked them to check my plugs, they said no because its new. Somehow they have a spare used coil and so they tested and still same problem. Then they changed the plugs again, problem solved. Then only he admit that the plugs was a defect and the will claim from supplier.

Axia 1st batch (2015) - any cause for reduced fuel efficiency?
last time can reach 14.3km/l, maxing out at 420km+ full tank
nowaday its only 13.9km/l, maybe maxing out at 370km+..
what can I do to make it go back up?
don't think so there's a change in driving pattern, brand of fuel has been the same.
note: all these calculations were provided from the car's meter. I usually will reset the trip meter after pumping petrol.

180K. Ya, I'm still keeping the old spark plugs. Anyway, after sending for throttle body cleaning, the low RPM issue improved. That said, the feeling is still not as before. Will drive more days and see how it goes.

Oh really? The foreman removed the plugs as well as the plug coil(?), I can hear the spark sounds coming from all 3 spark plugs. Is that an indicator they are good? At first, he suspected that the engine could probably just running on 2 spark plugs looking at the vibration from the engine.

Aircond compressor is a common problem for this batch.
Luckily I dont stay far from Sanden HQ Glenmarie, got it replaced in 2021 at RM750 all in .
I read on FB group if you go SC would be touching RM 1k.

But if you are lucky the previous owner may have already replaced it with the updated part

btw nuttyking91 when will the thread get a display pic whistling.gif

i guess repairing the head unit might cost as much as getting a new cheap android player.

i had mine replaced at Sanden shah alam as well last time. axia 2015 g spec.

according to Sandan foreman, he claims that you can check the compressor's sticker. if it is made in malaysia, there's a high chance it'll leak. because after the 2014 2015 batch, sandan replaced with made in japan units.

below is the breakdown of my compressor replacement:
RM550 Compressor 8409-6000m,
RM50 labor,
RM80 gas and vacuum.
Date: 1 Nov 2022 to 4 Nov 2022

*thanks to TAN WENG for his advise on this matter.

since the aircon system uses sanden system, i believe it is possible that you could purchase the entire aircon system from sanden if required.

This is now a popular car seeming rising fuel price in the horizon. Can I check what is the real world fuel consumption be like?

Oh... highway ah... hmm. if normal driving (some city + highway) wonder can get 16km/l?... 19km/l for highway with slow cruising speed still quite a distance from the advertise 27km/l. Hopefully I can reach your way of low fuel consumption, still breaking in this car and taman driving gives me about 13km/l

I've hit 10k KM mileage on Axia. I'm thinking to swap the front and rear tires. Do you guys do it yourself or at shop?

Any concerns if I do my self?

Some owners do

Balancing
Alignment
Rotation (swap tyres front, rear)

At the same time hence usually send to shop.

If you don't drive aggressively, hit any potholes or feel the handling any issue then can use the spare tyre to DIY rotation at home one by one.

usually swap every 15k.

you can DIY if you got the jack and other items.
i don't want the hassle, i ask the stop to swap. usually no need alignment. balancing usually better to do it for the front wheel.

advertise 27km/l is like ac off? cruising 60km/h on their test track with consistent rpm throughout the testing. of course can hit la.
real world situations always far off from as advertised
I'm using axia G 2015, auto max also 14.1km/l only in town + highway
now 100k mileage, engine seems sluggish a little, need to press more only can accelerate, dropped to 13.7km/l

got jack and the tire wrench in the car, but why wanna go through all the hassle and DIY when you can do it at the shop? all done within 20 minutes or less?
if no alignment + balancing, simple rotation only takes like 5 minutes?
DIY gonna take you how long? all the sweat and hardwork.
but if you wanna take it as an exercise, then go ahead. Just make sure to really tighten the nuts properly
just don't go flying on the stock tires maybe since its just ran in 10k.
stock tires were never good

Ya, understand that 27km/l is the best case scenario. But the real question is about how much difference in real world scenario. I think that 19km/l seems doable from the reply. Haha...

The best so far I have done, my old Axia vs new Axia 15.7 vs 17.1 km/l respectively. Mixed driving 70% city roads and 30% highways. My new Axia not fully run in yet. Only 1K +

Ya, it is a small engine vehicle and no choice to rev up higher to get the additional power from idle to cruise speed. That cause increase in fuel consumption

Slotting my sun shade, the sticky foam (back of the windscreen and dashboard) starts to stick to the shade and peel off. Any of you have the issue?

Maybe do some rubber filling will be good or how to maintain. Worry exhausting the foam will cause more noise or smtg in the future.

Changed it last week at the workshop, wah these day very easy nia, buy in shoppee, they arrange when to come, go to shop, change tyre at ur designated time, ciao. got 15% discount also compare to retail price.

Wah the tyre is really an upgrade, noticed alot of vibration gone, grip during dry/wet also maintains or probably more, cut water also good at 100kmh (just to test). So tyre is a little bit more quiet compared to stock, now i notice more noise in the cabin (rattling screw, etc) i think cannot be fixed liao, tin can car. tongue.gif

I find XM2 too hard for my old Axia. My 2nd generation Axia OEM tires are Toyo, which I find more comfortable but then the new Axia chassis is not the same.

mine is on XM2 plus.
its pretty comfy, of coz not as comfy and quiet as CC7.
but on the other hand, the handling and grip performance is good. you can have better confidence on wet roads.
just my take.
nevertheless, XM2 or CC7 or reputable models are all ok.

Wah OEM tires for newer Axia gets a Toyo? So fancy, FL only get kruizer whatever it is, so hard and noisy.

Of course, any issue and strange sound just sent to SC. The problematic part is that need to send in during weekdays and spend some time there.

you go perodua...before service. they will show you the items in the invoice. you check first. then whichever not so critical, just cancel it off.
also your warranty no more...you can do at 3rd party also

I had my mine serviced last year about RM500+ close to RM600. My memory not so good and I can’t find my receipt. You can decide what you want done. That service they told you may include tyres alignment rotation. I had brake fluid, engine and gear oil changed. That’s all I can remember.

Now that you mentioned it, yes I have just the coolant, air filter changed too. Unfortunately I can’t confirm because I have given the car to my mum and the receipt and job sheet is in the service booklet. If that is the case, the amount I spent could be more than RM600+. Sorry about this didn’t mean to waste your time, I had to carry out 2 major service for this car due the long layoff caused by the pandemic. I think I may have the pricing mixed up.

You can check the service required and the estimated cost from the link above. It is quite straight forward.
Some service center will throw in battery protector, windscreen washer fluid, engine cleaner fluid... you can politely reject them if you think it is not needed.

Hey Guys, Can Axia model G, 2023 d74a stock clarion player support the rear speaker upgrade? 🤔

I have no problem pulling the cables but what I'm unsure is the unit comes with this car has support for 4 channel speaker

can this Bezza player fit into Axia G 2020? I think my player looks similar but without the bluetooth function.

Installation should be plug and play without cutting wires and changing bracket right?

sq setup we focus on front stage only

Not focusing on SQ, just thought can give more hearing to the behind row listeners, otherwise I notice have to put volume more than 25 for the behind listener which is already too noisy for driver side.

Adding rear speaker with the stock radio unit will add more volume right?

Anyone tried to change the Axia 2023 driver's seat? No matter how much i adjust the seat, ergonomics feel damn weird especially on my right shoulder.

I thought of getting those SSCUS aftermarket seats, but will it interfere with the airbags tho?

I am using AXIA X 2023, without the seat airbags.

Thanks

My wife sewed a small pillow to support my lumbar. It seems to help and stopped me from sliding forward of the seat. It is still early days I only started to use it last week. I don’t have discomfort in my shoulders only that I keep sliding forward.

Forget to mention the lumbar support has improved overall comfort when I’m driving.

Axia, 1st Gen. Cooling coil requires replacement. Anyone knows what is the fair market price to replace? Any workshop to recommend in Butterworth or Penang Island? Thanks.

my experience:

klang valley price out side shop recon parts, third party part. almost same price as sanden.

disadvantage of sanden is they only work on weekdays, and limited service center.

first gen usually its compressor leaking.
you can bend down under your engine bay check if your compressor is 'made in malaysia' these batch all has leaking issue after a few years of use. mine leaked on the 7th year.

means its leaking.
usual suspects, compressor, cooling coil or condenser.
just pray its not cooling coil, as you need to remove the entire dashboard.

Hello, anyone here actually tried changing the stock player to those android players? Saw on shopee, can buy a casing for the center console? the aircond vents and control area.
Then fit in a bigger android player up to 9/10"

Also, my Axia seems to have a droning sound whenever I release the gas pedal, what may be the issue? Anyone here faced the same issue before?

Hi all, any recommendations for a LCD screen and clear rearview camera for the old 2015 model Axia G ? Android players go out of support and lag a lot after a couple of years, so hoping to get something that can last the next 3 years...

Thanks a million!

9) compressor
Only foreman know, some be can service, $200-300, if change $500 above.

Same 1KR-VE engine as old Axia since 2017.
It is based on the Toyota 1KR-FE built in 2005.

Underpowered for the sturdy DNGA chassis

We can comment overpriced but still sell like hot cakes. P2 has done their homework 😅

New Axia AV - $ 49.500
New Bezza AV- $ 49.980

Is only $480 different.. .. Bezza boot is more bigger space... If Axia AV below 40K definitely sales went up sky high.. 😂

If anyone drive pass P2 showroom, might notice 'Axia ready stocks '

1kr engine is kinda good... As u says they have few 1kr- xx (4-5models) mmmm so far I too drive 1kr engine w DNGA chassis but far been 2yrs.... Would not says underpower..

So far is anyone using LED on their headlamp bulbs (H4) already without danger of blinding oncoming cars? Axia G model owner here.

Can recommend any particular brand, as well as any other adjustments made, to make it safe for everyone?

Already got a pair for the smaller clearance bulbs, but then it's a bit odd, combining its whitishness with the bigger stock yellow headlamps.

It’s just a softer brake pad. Like continental cars. P2 likes to source their parts from different manufacturers, eg. Their recent oil filter fiasco was from an another manufacturer.

Question to all.

I have this gear-up wire harness, and one of it says "DVR" which means Digital Video Recorder. I assume for dashcam, correct? but the slot doesnt seem like a USB connector.

How can i connect if i buy a 3rd party dashcam such as DDPAI or 70mai?

gearup wire harness : https://shopee.com.my/product/8441847/20262...GxoCwmYQAvD_BwE

If you buy a 70mai, usually you can get the installer wire kit and the installer will do everything for you.
If I'm not mistaken the gear up wire harness is use to power ambient lighting, not too sure about powering dash cam though. Maybe others can help.

Two things.

1) The wire harness does have the DVR connector, and it is for Dashcam, but specific to their gear-up dashcam that costs about RM500+ when you buy the car with those overpriced gear-up accessories. I noticed in my 2023 Alza AV, they force people to buy the wire harness because it will need to link up to their already attached Dashcam. I opened the glove compartment to see the wire harness and i can see that the DVR connector is used.

2) The 70mai or DDPAI dashcam comes with a regular USB-cigarette lighter plug, but some even gave the option with the "hot-wire" installation, where you connect to the fusebox and can even be 24/7 recording even when your car is off. That hot-wire installation kit does not come with the DVR connector.

hence my question if there is any sifus out there that faced this experience and know how to "fix" it?

Hi all , my 2022/march axia air con not cool on 29 April, check on 2 May and inform me it's the evaporator need change. The warranty just expire 1 month, cost of change rm800. Don't have enough money. My kilometers is on 17245km 2 May, accident free. Is there any way to get it fix less money?

What's the axia 2022/march model evaporator looks like and what brand is reliable?

Why got leak? Just 3 yrs olds and accident free and low mileage. The technician pump gas in and use a stick to check around the engine and at the blow out air con vent to detect leak?

What brand evaporator do I look for?

If refer to cooling coil inside the dashboard won't be bocor so fast 1. Usually >5 years or over 100k+ km.
If 3 years never refill gas before then try fill gas rm50+- or service aircond rm150+- first, if gas gone within 1 week then only find leak. Start by check hose then condenser behind the front bumper. Last only cooling coil as need to dismantle the dashboard.
Find different shop, nowadays some scam shop even purposely fill less gas to let u believe your aircond got leaking then charge u expensive repair fees.

Perodua Glenmarie told me today only my magnetic clutch faulty. They can't change just this part need to change whole set with compressor 1k+.

So I went to Sanden to change magnetic clutch. Got charged 450. Should've just changed whole set fuck. 120k mileage might as well change new set right.

So I went to Sanden to change magnetic clutch. Got charged 450. Should've just changed whole set fuck. 120k mileage might as well change new set right.

I changed my compressor at sanden for less than 800... I think you should've changed the whole thing yea

Hello peeps, for those who service at workshops outside, do you guys bring your own engine oil/atf? Cus I've been to a few workshops and they all seem to only have 4 liters engine oil/atf (no 3 liters or even 1 liter x3), and I feel like I'm just paying extra for nothing.

So far is anyone using LED on their headlamp bulbs (H4) already without danger of blinding oncoming cars?  Axia G model owner here.

Can recommend any particular brand, as well as any other adjustments made, to make it safe for everyone?

Already got a pair for the smaller clearance bulbs, but then it's a bit odd, combining its whitishness with the bigger stock yellow headlamps.

those cars with blinding lights it's due to wrong installation / specs / incompatible bulbs. By right if you buy the correct model it should be plug and play and won't blind incoming cars

i bought this plug n play

Hey guys... Any decent Android player brands to recommend for 2017 Axia SE...? Budget preferably below RM 500 as priority only for Apple CarPlay/Google Maps for navigation and a reverse camera... no need fancy features like Youtube/Netflix...
