Your view is valid but just not practised in many cases of divorces because it's the view of most Courts that the mother is the best person to take care of her own kids, especially when they are younger than 18 years old.

No matter how much the man cares for or how he protects his pregnant wife, can he share in the discomfort during her pregnancy? Or take over the labour pains for just half a microsecond during childbirth.

Child support AND alimony are still quite widely practised in many countries in many cases of divorce.

The laws have caused society to change in at least one way:

Nowadays in China, it's not only no longer disgraceful to be an unwed mother. Sooooo many female university graduates go overseas to spend a bomb on getting a baby using IVF. After giving birth to their infants, they bring the kid back to China.

And show off her unwed mother status as if it's an HONOUR. Now that I know about the kinda judgement for this type of divorce cases, I feel that I can't blame the female university graduates.

But what kinda problems and consequences await society, country and the world? Will the happenings in America where kids bring weapons to schools to commit massacres on innocent classmates AND teachers also happen in China? (America also has no solution on the increasing numbers of unwed mothers.)

How will this kinda abnormal family background affect the well-being and psyche of the kids??

women want guys who can provide, which means guys who earn more than them. it's a biological thing. nothing wrong with that.

what made the situation worse? social media and dating apps. women from your father's generation had a handful of choices. having less choice means women have less to compare with, which makes them content with their choice. today, women see everything, from the lives of their friends to the lifestyle of billionaires. you see more, you want more. e.g. women from your father's generation will be darned happy if they get a meal at mcd. women today want wine and dine.

so, women today have a choice. try to hunt for that high value guy, fail (probably) and end up old and single. or settle for lower value guys, even guys who make less than them. there are plenty of decent guys around. unfortunately, they are invisible to the majority of ladies to day who just knows how to look up.

It's not called women's mentality. It's that womanly virtues are no longer looked upon as something valuable. Morality of society in general has deteriorated.

In my parents' generation, they stick together through thick and thin, for richer or poorer, better or worse, in sickness and in health.

Just look at that divorce case in China where that guy divorced his wife because they're poor and she's ill. Honestly they don't believe in 贫病夫妻不相离 anymore. Nowadays they're ALL 贫贱夫妻百事哀、大难来时各自飞。

That's why I said that he was 良心发现、畏罪自杀、引咎自杀、罪有应得、死不足惜。Why did the Court pay THAT money. Stupid AND bodoh cops plus judges. If they hadn't made THAT compensation, the guy's father would also not have killed 5 people and injured over 20 people. (You wanna make the compensation, but didn't bother to followup with the elders of the family?? I tell you: the old fool was most likely also poorer than the pauper, that's why he had nothing to lose! Ended up suicide mission.)

Nowadays the governments allow the wicked women to go around harming and hurting those kind and honest guys and use the idea of equality of the genders to HURT, BULLY and ABUSE the kind women. No wonder we see from beginning of the year to the end of the year, day in day out ALL kinds of disasters in the world. AND in China.

you know what ppl say about girls these days? girls wait for you at the finish line. they don't run the race together with you. once there's a trend, there's reaction to the trend. if ladies tend to not put in the effort to support you on your journey in terms of career success, as a response men tend to be less faithful.

look at the general trend instead of the outliers.
