She is the CEO of a publicly listed company, the first 家政公司 in China to get public listing. 家政公司 meaning she is in charge of the cleaning maids, house moving, nannies taking care of babies and young children, confinement for new mothers and even taking the elderly for medical check-ups and visits etc. The name of her company is 小羽佳 apparently the name is made from disassembling her surname 翟。(I asked them if they are planning on expanding to overseas, for example West Malaysia. But they replied not yet because of computer problem.)

Her parents divorced when she was only 12 and she and her younger brother were assigned to her father, apparently she has an eldest sister who followed her mum. She got into relationship very young and got pregnant at the age of 18, and so when the fetus was 5 months old, she got an abortion because in those days premarital pregnancy was generally not accepted.

Subsequently she got married at the age of 35 to a guy with a daughter from his previous marriage. She's an astute businesswoman who managed to earn quite a bit of money and during their marriage which lasted for about 10 years, she paid for everything in their lives. In order to try to get a baby she went for 15 IVF and the number of operations (big and small) she had to undergo is 23. After an IVF in the year 2013 which almost succeeded but finally ended with the fetus dead, she was almost feeling suicidal. Then the two went for a holiday in the USA. But a few months later, he told her that he wanted a divorce because of 性格不合 their characters couldn't match. (After 10 years of marriage.)

The excuse he gave her was her inability to give birth but they went to Court and she produced evidence such as some love letters he had written in the marriage and also photos of their trip to USA to prove to the judge that he's lying with regards to his claims of "their characters couldn't match". With just a few statements 性格不合、感情破裂、婚姻失败 he managed to demolish all her efforts put in over the 10 years of marriage. Apparently she even begged him because she just wanted to have a small family of her own after her parents' own marriage failed her.

Anyway the judge of that first Court proceedings believed her story more than his (he got a lawyer who made all kinds of accusations, just short of accusing her to be a bad woman) LIES. But the judge told her in private that should he apply for a divorce in 6 months' time they would have no choice but to grant the divorce. She then consulted her own lawyers who told her to get an agreement with the bastard. After some negotiations she paid him a sum of 30 million RMB (house and cash etc).

My point is what did she do?? She isn't a faithless wife who cheated and betrayed him, is she?? Why should the bastard get her money? Just because she's a better earner than him? Just because of whatever LJ equality of the genders?? A woman can do anything a man can do but can a man give birth?

If I were the judge, not only is this bastard not getting a single cent of her money, but I would order him to pay her his expenses paid by her in their marriage. Plus the damages to her health and her psychological suffering and pressures due to the 15 times of IVF plus 23 surgeries (big and small). In short I would order the guy to pay her RMB300 million and if he's unable to pay, then just go jail for 30 years la!

I am under this impression now: not only are the men in China 软饭王 soft rice bastards, but they are also bullying the women in the name of equality of the genders!!!

I just can't believe it! Almost all other countries in the world have divorce laws THAT are more inclined to protect or help the womenfolks and the innocent kids because the latter are actually the more vulnerable parties in failed marriages. But men in China apparently are using the equality of the genders to abuse AND bully the womenfolks as in THIS case.
