Will it be under Toyota or Perodua?
Or it won't matter since they are all under one family now? Pricing will be a determining factor. This post has been edited by dark_axl21: Oct 10 2023, 10:40 AM |

Most likely will soldier on with its 2NR-VE 2nrve is compareable with city hatchback. is that counted as newest edition L15 enjin? |

if it was rated 110hp and 140~150Nm with 1,100kg, it will be more than enough.

QUOTE(babisotong @ Oct 26 2023, 10:05 AM) yes, that's why i said it won't be an issue. Was hoping for 1.2T DCVT haha, who knows, finally Perodua will break 110hp/150Nm record Daihatsu's DCVT only rated till 150Nm thats why Alza, Ativa, Myvi max torque has been capped at 140Nm.If D66b needs higher torque, it will be a different gearbox. Can check their existing options cos Perodua won't get any new ones |

Finally some news related to Perodua D66B and Toyota Yaris Cross.
Sime Darby's presence in the local automotive market will be expanded to the mid-market via Toyota and the affordable segment via Perodua. it said this puts the group in a better position to navigate the impending fuel subsidy rationalization, as well as benefit from the anticipated new launches of the Perodua D66B and Toyota Yaris Cross by April 2024. QUOTE(Matchy @ Feb 20 2024, 02:18 PM) Maybe you are right. P2 didn't provide any reason for the delay. As far as we are concern, the development for the headlamp is already at the final stage. Expected to get new schedule from P2 for both model during March. |

But the Toyota SA told me there will be Yaris Cross this year after Perodua's Nexis come out first. But that was mentioned 2 months ago. Perodua salesmen usually are very tight lipped, also have a sales contact which we bought our car from. What a turn off as I & siblings need to replace my dad's old bezza. |

There's a nice hole pricing from 95.5K to 130.9K that UMW stupidly didn't fill for so long. Honda has many sitting at this price range. Let's hope it's closer to the 100K mark because this Daihatsu based shouldn't be overly priced. dogbert_chew liked this post

Out of 5 dealers i asked, 4 told that the Perodua version of the Yaris Cross will either launch next year or not launch at all, one told will launch estimated September 2024..
Here’s to hoping that the 4 are wrong.. |

QUOTE(contagiouseddie @ Jun 14 2024, 02:11 PM) I do think they might be targetting to come out around when RON95 subsidy is removed. The hybrid version will fly out of the window by boats especially if Perodua has a version of it. Suspect SimeDarby will reserve the hybrid under Toyota badge and charge super premium for it. They don't play volume game which might be left for Perodua |

My Toyota salesmen said early next year for Yaris Cross and Corolla Cross updated version end of this year probably due to not much bigger change needed to the production line for CC compared to YC (plus the scandal). dogbert_chew liked this post

They only have the pickup and SUV cum expensive pickup. Hyundai again looked like a failed brand in Malaysia. Their early push on EV seems to sizzled out already after the Chinese EVs came in. |

QUOTE(Icecoolz93 @ Jul 18 2024, 09:38 PM) BAIC soon launching B Segment SUV around RM120k & Jetour selling Dashing around RM120k too, more competition coming in with more complete features to be launch 1st then launch 1.5 years ago debut (outdated) Toyota Yaris Cross in Malaysia.Good Luck Toyota & Honda after More China brand come in then they feel the heat recently with rebate kaw kaw alot stock. (Yes all want settle before cant 100% full loan in August) Honda force to include all the basic features on lower spec car but increase price of the car to compete with the China brand car with price war. For those plan to buy for long term use sure dint care about 2nd value. Obvoius want clear stock on Toyota Yaris because is a discountine model on other country. Corolla Cross also make way for facelift. Mitshubishi XForce might tak jadi because hard to compete with China brand car because selling price expect will be pricier that why going to focus Xpander facelift prioity. Well competition is good if not those car brand exsited in Malaysia if not monopolise or no inovation. Like what happen Mazda CX5 overseas facelift and more features but Malaysia facelift like minimal then launch so called facelift & new price expensive not worth it almost a Lexus BMW pricing. ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by Icecoolz93: Jul 24 2024, 10:14 PM |

Itu Automachi now mentioned September/October launch pula. I think it's possible because was told by a Toyota SA today, the bigger CC face-lift end of year or Q1 2025. So, sort of properly spaced out between them.

You see now Honda & Toyota desperate to sell alot ready stock car as high rebate even CRV mid month intro RM2k cash rebate. If they dont take action gg thier market, you see MG grand just launch a Civic rival below RM100k some more. |

Both Perodua and Toyota MY must have a super NDA letter signed by all their workers until nothing came out. Perodua especially never had a leak whatsoever.

Toyota SA said CC face-lift end of November, Yaris Cross is next year already. It does look like YC will be assembled in own Bukit Raja factory rather than in Rawang. I suspect the volume will be too high for Perodua to cope. The Bukit Raja plant had high unused capacity.

So Perodua Nexis will not launch in 2024 and may not launch at all in 2025. Same go to Toyota Yaris Cross. Totally drop from Malaysia market?

so far all the KLIMS coverage on youtube focuses only on the eMO-II at the Perodua booth, no surprise appearance for the D66b
this means further delay for YC if Toyota really had agreement with Perodua to let them release first |

QUOTE(jhleo1 @ Dec 9 2024, 03:34 PM) so you mean there's absolutely no chance for the car to launch in the next 12 months?if they really only release it in 2026, it better be a FL version rather than the original one that's launched in Indonesia in June 2023 to answer your question, I'm in no hurry to get a new car; and also I'm not hell-bent on getting TYC - therefore keeping my options open |

I think P2 would release early next year as they didn't release anything in 2024. If Nexis and Emo release next year, it won't be shocked if they hit 400K plus although that would mean working over their capacity. jhleo1 liked this post

QUOTE(jhleo1 @ Jan 10 2025, 09:11 AM) Toyota Yaris Cross may not launch in Malaysia. What is alternative for Hybrid Compact SUV besides those China brand or H brand? I just bought the facelift CC Hybrid, got it for RM131.8K during year end, so it's bang for bucks. The drive is so smooth. But I would still say the Yaris Cross interior has a better ergonomics. jhleo1 liked this post

QUOTE(giftfre @ Jan 10 2025, 09:22 AM) I owned an Ativa as well. I prefer the Ativa UI interface on the MID (it's much more intutive like using an Apple product) and there are things that are better thought (which are also reflected on the Yaris Cross). For example, CC front's cabin light can only be on or off but can't be controlled based on the door. There's no foot lighting on both driver and passenger as well. Ativa's cabin light also turns on when you go near the car. The dashboard on CC also curve out too much that it eat up space inside at the front. Ativa and Yaris Cross doesn't have this sort of odd design. And don't let me talk about the television screen on the CC albeit it has shrinked a little bit on the facelift and the USB cable plug position on the screen. I felt that the team that design the smaller Toyota car are better in terms of ergonomics. FrogBlob and dogbert_chew liked this post

Already set up so many local vendor making parts. Cost like molding and stamping, you think the vendors can do it for free if cancel? It's just a matter of time. If can't wait, just get other cars. |

QUOTE(Icecoolz93 @ Mar 11 2025, 09:21 PM) But for me WRV not worth pricing with that segment, Chery soon will launch Tiggo cross more better spec and much cheaper price expected. Not much choices of small car in the market (our budget was below 125K and below). We did test Mazda CX3, ATIVA.The car is for my wife, she just wanted a small car for her to move around in the city (previous car was Toyota Yaris). I can said that the space for back passengers is bigger than Yaris even Madza CX30. dogbert_chew liked this post

After so many years I still dislike Corolla Cross look, and the ageing 1.8L engine Just tested the HRV yesterday, driving feel better than my expectation I must say. The 1.5T 4 pot engine is good and Honda's ACC suite should be better than the Yaris Cross one, as I saw from Youtube, Yarix Cross / D66B has its ACC much like the Ativa one. Ping pong without proper lane keeping assist. This post has been edited by 4WD_er: Mar 14 2025, 09:00 AM Betrue and dogbert_chew liked this post

I would have waited for YC if weren't for the constant repairs I was having with my HRV. I think the ergonomics in YC is better than Cross that I bought. Anyway, I'm sure it is coming this year, so if you already set your heart on it, just wait.

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Oct 12 2025, 10:25 PM) Tldr : Dec launch, 2 variant under P2, < 80K Just got a call from my SA for perodua last evening. Confirmed Perodua Nexis is on this Dec launch. But only ICE version. https://www.wapcar.my/bm/terbaru-perodua-ne...dan-aruz-747206 Told him that for now, not interested since I bought Corolla Cross last month. Been waiting for this Nexis for almost 3 years and my patience has ran out. Perodua wanted to play cat and mouse game too much. Well, too bad as I believe many of their potential customers for this new Nexis had turned to other models as they were unsure of them it will be launched. Anyway, this Nexis will face a huge challenge with those low cost EV for the same market size market segment, I suppose. Will consider this again next few years gua, unless EV infra has matured tremendously next few years. contagiouseddie and dogbert_chew liked this post

QUOTE(fongsk @ Oct 17 2025, 06:20 AM) Just got a call from my SA for perodua last evening. Confirmed Perodua Nexis is on this Dec launch. But only ICE version. Many 1 size larger EV and ICE in the 100-125K ball park now. It has to be cheap to sell but it will definitely eat Ativa's sales. Ativa has to go for facelift and quietly reduce price. Even P2 has no where to run from CCP car wave.Told him that for now, not interested since I bought Corolla Cross last month. Anyway, this Nexis will face a huge challenge with those low cost EV for the same market size market segment, I suppose. Will consider this again next few years gua, unless EV infra has matured tremendously next few years. Add: The price is being determined by the Toyota version actually. And the Toyota version is now dictated by the CCP car prices. To follow their old recipe of 20K extra on top of P2 version is no longer doable in my opinion. 20K difference if one is a hybrid yes, if pure ICE no. Of course now people want those things like automatic aircond, wireless AA and AC, keyless on both doors, electric seat, etc. The differences becoming less and less. Ativa will have its own segment but still will be affected due to cheaper EVs . Personally after driving cross, I am still in love with Ativa. Zippy drive, compact enough for a 2D/1N tour for a family of 4. Reminds me of the Perodua classic car Kelisa. lj0000 liked this post

QUOTE(jhleo1 @ Oct 13 2025, 12:46 PM) Can trust all these news nowadays. From FB group news said Perodua only focus on EV models. Just wait n see... Haha I Wait until already brought Chery Tiggo Cross Hybrid. I statisfied my car have everything that I needed function & the petrol save me RM30-40 per week. I drove 1600KM this month include back Kuantan from PJ and daily work travel 60KM per weekday. Is a shame that Nexis / Yaris Cross for me consider outdated car May 2023. fongsk, Zeroxhunter, and 2 others liked this post

QUOTE(rumahwip @ Nov 2 2025, 04:12 PM) No, Toyota. Not ready to buy Chinese made cars yet. They may be cheaper with lots of gadgets etc but the reliability, maturity and stability of their cars are still a concern to me. FrogBlob and contagiouseddie liked this post

QUOTE(rumahwip @ Nov 2 2025, 05:59 PM) If Perodua officially announced their plan to launch Nexis instead of the cat and mouse game, I would have waited for the Nexis. But no, they went crazy with their yes/no to Nexis all these while for almost 3 years. Got tired of waiting and playing to their tune and got Cross. I would still prefer Nexis or Yaris cross though as the Toyota cross is too large for my needs. Too bad Yaris cross hybrid will only be launched at H2 2026, if news are true. I need a bigger car that is between Ativa and Toyota Cross, this Nexis or Yaris cross fits the bill. Unfortunately, the timing (Toyota) or news blackout (Nexis) makes it difficult to wait. Well, I am happy with my new Toyota cross HEV. It is a predictable car for a boring driver like me. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 eauyong liked this post

QUOTE(rumahwip @ Nov 2 2025, 05:59 PM) Felt that CCP cars are feature packed but quality is not there yet. If you browse through CCP cars group on FB, you will know. Simple things like seat also can koyak within less than a year, door handle broke, side windscreen broken for no reason, etc. We haven't go for other more major component down the road yet. Like fongsk, I too have the same car combo, Ativa+CC HEV. The pure petrol Yaris Cross would definitely a better drive just like the Ativa but it will lack the fine details refinement especially like the e-cvt on the CC, it just felt so well integrated. If Toyota have a 4-cylinder turbo even if it is 1.0L with hybrid, it woud be the best combination. Not sure how the Yaris Cross hybrid would drive like but it probably will be a bit lacksture in terms of driving but given the weight, it might be just okayish. |
