off-grid hybrid inverters cannot export to grid because they lack grid frequency synchronization feature

on-grid hybrid inverters should be configurable for off-grid use...then you can switch off tnb and power the house... but because you don't have batteries, you need to select the loads carefully, otherwise inverter will keep tripping...

micro inverters need the grid and cant do much without it...

Done installing these two sets in parallel during Gawai holiday.
So far, due to rainy and cloudy weather, I am unable to get those packs to reach 55.2V not even once.
My JKBMS integrated active balancers and external Neey/Enerkey 10A balancers don't even turned on at all.

It had been almost two weeks......

find out warranty support/lead time for 12ktl vs 6ktl? i dunno about inverter failure, popularity and spare parts they keep... 2 units will obviously give you some backup...

inverter has max voltage hard limit... as long as not exceeded you can go higher kwp but it is then limited by mppt current... you asked about high current model, perhaps perhaps these have higher mppt current limit... also the closer you run inverter to its max power limit, the higher probability of failure imho because you are pushing all the components to its limit... so if you max max out everything, then a 2x 6ktl may be a better choice...

however our use of solar is not a critical service, so a single inverter is probably good enough...

Also can buy insurance to cover production down time due to inverter failure but how easy is it to claim is a big ?

Hi all - Just sharing what I've shortlisted before pulling the trigger. Capacity is 10.xx kwP.
- Huawei string inverter: Vestech (Solarvest subsidiary), and De Solar
- Solplanet string inverter: Amsolar
- Hoymiles micro inverter: Pathgreen for its s-miles app access

My roof is flat, metal deck and no space constraint to fit panels for the capacity. Price and warranty wise they are all about the same (34-38k) but I'm trying to maximize their O&M packages.

For all the sifus out there, could you share your views on the above options, particularly in terms of long term solution, battery expansion and manceainten?

With micro you can also install battery later through AC coupled inverter. Im considering MI not because of shade issue but wanted to get the most out of each PV panel but slight concern on accessibility to roof for MI maintenance.

Eg:
1600kwh usage (assuming equal usage spread out over the whole day). Solar system generates 1000kwh. Meaning import is 600kwh.

Will TNB still imposed ICPT since overall usage is 1600kwh or we will avoid ICPT since net import is 600kwh?

Check with you all, my installer said can apply tnb to change meter and Solaris after panel installation without inverter. Is that true? He said install panel first and inverter later because no stock. If this is just a workaround and not advisable by tnb I’m not doing it
