how is the heat generated by the inverter? noticeable when u enter the store?

As per whatsapp from the solar company engineering team, my roof structure cannot support the weight of the solar panels

"Kayu ni boleh pecah kalau kita drill, bila da masuk L + railing + panel , possibility utk kayu tu mengepak dan pecah tinggi tu".

inverter generate heat then use aircon to cold it down.
then aircon need more energy to cold it down cause of the heat.

in the end could have more lost compare to distance,
actually 1 more question, DC losses should be higher then AC right?

the distant from solar panel to DB should be fix distance,
the question is where to put the inverter only, which only impact DC and AC length.

if put outside, mean the AC is longer then DC wire.

if put store, mean DC is longer then AC wire.

this will be another argument. lol

Which means indirectly im paying just rm600 for the solar system cause now my monthly bill also around rm1k.

actually i asked before.
let say if solar panel spoil, need warranty how to deal with.

need to hire the skylift and lorry, easily rm500 to 1k to remove the solar for warranty.

then another Rm500 to 1k to install back on top.

all this excluding labor cost, only the machinery.

if the panel is EOL, mean no replacement, then how?

My bill around RM 400-450(Kajang area), these are the quotation I got previously for around RM 500 savings and RM 700 savings for future EV planning. 

1. 8.8kwp, JA solar 550w with Hoymiles, savings monthly 500+, 28.8k cash

2. 9.44kwp, Jinko 590w with Huayu, savings monthly 530+, 30k cash

3. 12.54kwp, Trina 570w with Huawei 12kw, savings monthly 700+, 35.5k cash

4. 11.8kwp, Jinko 590w with Huayu, savings monthly 670+, 35k cash

Conclusion, I installed together with my left and right neighbor, we bulk purchase for option 2, 3 house for 29k cash per system with 1 free maintenance (panel cleaning) within first 3 years, superb service and safety information from salesperson.

I am still in the process of having my system installed so do research further on what i say.

Maybe consider taking up insurance? That's what my installer is suggesting. Rm10k sum insured for Rm5x a year. Of course, always read the fine print what is covered, what is not. So far, it seems fine print is Rm500 deductible. Ok la if repair cost is a few k and we just have to pay Rm500. My installer says manpower/skylift cost included, as in they will repair and backend they claim back from insurance co.

Having said the above, i am still in the begining stage,  just closed deal today. So, am not going to share my installer contact until he finishes the entire project. Then i will share review whether good or bad.

actually why do we need to stop export to TNB after NEM period over? isnt it nice for TNB with free power?

Would love to follow your progress on your diy solar system. U should start a fb group & who knows maybe make money creating off grid systems that are connected just to charge Evs in landed property?

Thank you. So it's base on scenario 'WHEN' the electricity is used.

Scenario A
Lets say my system generates 1000kwh and IF my consumption 1600kwh is balanced  (we WFH so day & night usage should be the same) 800 kwh during day and 800kwh at night. We switch on ACs during the day (too hot to not switch on). Theorectically because i use what i produce, 1000-800kwh = 200kwh sent back to grid, i am not importing from the grid during the day. At night i use 800kwh so TNB will consider my import as 800kwh, then less my export of 200kwh and charge me 600kwh. I will therefore avoid the ICPT tax.

Scenario B
If i generate 1000kwh during the day, but household is empty coz everyine works in an office. So, 1000kwh all gets sent back to the grid. At night, everyone comes back and starts using electricity of 1600kwh. It means TNB will consider my import as 1600kwh hence ICPT kicks in, then only offset 1000kwh of my export?

That's how i understand it. I guess got to wait until my system is operational then i will find out for sure.

I have seen data on how the pv panel achieve max output at certain hours of the day.  So,  If it’s on string, I will suggest go for 1:1 too if possible.  Lots of time, inverter lifespan is reduced due to oversizing. Solar companies actually can provide this ratio at no cost. Just that they don’t want to.

He’s from Sarawak if not mistaken. But so far from what I know, it’s not really worth it because your hydroelectric generator is generating cheap electricity at 33cent per kWh at the highest tariff.

wanna ask those who have completed NEM, how long was your waiting period for installer to come start work after receiving SEDA certificate? I got approval  cert in less than a week.

My installer says 1month plus and just wanted to know if that’s standard or too long.

Lucky you. My approval is super fast but installer said 1 month plus.. should’ve asked this before . Thinking how to expedite
