because a lot of the EVGA 8800gt sold out in the US check newegg
so is XFX in the US but luckily they are europe and their penetration to the US market is a bit low. Although sold out in the US XFX do distribute to asia quite a bit also.

*
not bad last time but now they are not getting anymore foxconn reference cards. now dunno who already palit??

http://www.bfgtech.com/bfgr88640gtseeoce.aspx

proof that the new GTS is not a g92

heck i dont think its going to that fast unless somebody gets some A3 versions

ITs just a 8800gts 640 mb with some of the SP enabled.

so gtx/ultra is here to stay for a while

The HR-03 Plus can't fit the graphic card, not sure the HR-03, coz i ordered the HR-03 plus and install, the mounting hole is not suitable, but if u use some creativity, it still can install, i tight it with the cable tight and it work fine now, keep the card cooling at 46c idle, i read at some other forum, they said the 8800GT use the 7 series mounting hole, so theorycally 7 series after market cooler may be can use. here the pic of my 8800GT with HR-03 plus look like.

Dear all,

I have just bought the Zotac Geforce 8800GT from Low Yat for RM880. There are no games bundle with this card and it uses the reference cooler design.

It is a pre overclock card (ie. core 660mhz, memory 1800mhz)

Idle temp according to NV Tray is 60-63c and load temp (when playing Bioshock) is 85c.

Seriously have to change the heatsink, not cool enough and it's kinda annoying if u open your casing while playing.

Now all my games run very smooth @ 1280x1024 with 4xAA and 16xAF.

Just need to change the cooler once there is a proper 3rd party cooler on the market. Anybody know where I can get Artic Silver 5?

Thanks a bunch. Back to the smooth gaming...

Cheers,

Ken

ok but willing to spend more $$ on aftermarket cooler
and maybe ruin the card with the wrong theremalpaste etc since this card core is exposed??

*
eh take it like this
after u buy the card
u most probably have to pay somebody to buy that brand.

its not about reliability but more to assumptions and marketing brainwashing...

"its not about reliability but more to assumptions and marketing brainwashing..."

the problem with brand selection is more to overclocking etc potentials depending on which nvidia partner they got their board from

is it true that xpert vision is producing gc for palit. ?? Thats why you see the card fan is the same, refer to vr-zone

uik i thought it was the other way around since palit is a nvidia partner for reference card manu

no larr i wanted to try to do hack sli driver on the x38
but cannot

sold off the EVGA 8800gts 640mb and XFX 8800gts 320mb

so far
hell damn impress with this card
thinking of selling off my two last cards the xfx 8800gtx and hd2900xt

its just so thin .. infact sometimes in certain games i also have my doubts whether this card can game in this setting but so far it just ploughs true like telling me dont worry... gtx and me are brothers or something like that

hmm ati HD3870 cheaper than the 8800gt some reports say..
does that mean the card is not as good??

sishh some games i play the fps i am getting reminds me of my ultra

lucky leh i sold off the ultra both for 2.1k
sishh now that price also cannot sell.

and u have to admit
the cards look good
which is why cant break my heart to put a silly looking 3rd party hsf on it
its either stock or water cooling

tommorow a bit free will use one faulty evga 680 mobo i have lying around
with my e6600L629b383
and bench both gt?/ ok??

i DAMN happy with the GT

its like when u get the ultra/gtx
u know its going to preform
and like if it cant then everybody else are in worst off condition

The 8800gt is like u keep doubting the card
and it keeps suprising u

the ati hd2900xt was like
u expect a lot of the card but get disappointed at times
but get disappointed until ati comes out with a new driver
pity users who like changes drivers like every week for ati cards just to play a certain game.

the 640gts u know it will perform at any mid setting for anygame
the 320mb is the same but depending on the resolution

this is how i sum up my experience with all this cards this whole year.
fuss free no issue undoubtedly the gtx/ultra

8800gt just keeps me smiling kekek.. and it looks so good the single slot cooler with the black pcb.. awesome been a long time since vr-zone labeled like MUST buy card.

Its that sort of card

hmm the card has a lot of heat walls so depending on ure ambient temps
max i did so far is 730/1820/2120

but this cant run 24/7 heat wall issue even though it will pass artifact scan

best i see so far any card can do 700/1750/2000 no probs

the card might be hot when u run 100percent
but its not like a personal heater

sishh on my second rig .. when my girl plays CS if she doesnt on the aircon sweating like mad with the HD2900xt or 8800gts 640

the 320 with HR03plus and FM123 not so hot...

this card no hot at all
100% fan speed is idle around 48-50 and load max at 67.. i did a 4 hours artifact scanning on the card

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Atta...=post&id=320215

with no aircon or room ceiling fan
just left it from 4 in the morning till 8

@cstkl1
so, you're implying that the GT is almost as good as GTX/ultra ?
*
dude like i implied the current games are finally showing the true value of GTS/GTX/ULtra
the gtx and ultra is pulling further away from the current gts

the 8800gt is shinning at the moment

its just that u wont be disappointed with this card
again let me make it clear

when i had the GTX/Ultra it was great since nothing cannot be played but then i was on sli for both
if i cannot game then everybody else screwed
the 640mb/320 gts u can play any game at mid settings guaranteed with the later depending on reso

the 8800gt u dont expect a lot but its gaming at high/very high settings using todays games with no probs that u will encounter with the GTS

so in that respective is how that is

thats y i said i am DAMED happy with the card
gtx/ultra owners especially the likes like ianho and even me we had it for such a long time and gamed on it for such a while so no regrets with the sli setup...

this card who ever buys it wont regret for the games now.

tommorow we will never know.

* ps the above statement is meant on a over clock system.. remember that

not to be long winded i got the GTX sli i could game anything
then i simply took ultra slied for the ultimate gaming experience
the HD2900xt was doing loops with a lot of rumours etc.. so i tried it even up to crossfire for a day. keke
was disappointed... as it is performing less than my 640mb gts
then was watching some ppl with GTS breaking some aquamark records ahem. and was wondering wtf
so i got one.. that can clock well put some HR03 plus and FM123..
then i found out gts good on benchies but it hits its potential with the 320mb when u go high reso
then went to GT.. and so far its the best card nvidia has made in years for the price/performance and so far its just keep making me smile more and more.

I doubt u can play Crysis at Very High settings with just a single 8800GT.  Based on running the demo, my single 8800GTX  can only play Very High settings at 1280x1024. That's right on the limit of playability at about 30fps. The GT will surely not be playable below 30fps.
*
heheh it can
on 1600x1080

around 30fps average

at 700/1750/1000

on front side bus 2000 with rams running at 1000mhz 4-4-4-8

me am the living proof of this tongue.gif

Added on November 1, 2007, 1:58 amhmm 4 mins vs 4 hours??

geee i posted here even 1 hour for 720/1800/2100

theres one more test hehehe to see whether ure clocks are stable

after u clock
run ati artifact scanning
then switch to dual monitor setup if u have one..
kekeke
if ure mem clocks dont blow on u
ure stable
if not sorry for ure mem clocks

3dmark01 will show any unstable clocks

Can i ask. Based on the 3DMark06, performance of 8800GT are better than 8800GTS version 320MB and 640MB . But why the price for 8800GT cheaper than 8800GTS?
*
because die shrink
cheaper to produce gt than to produce gts

dunno true or not

oh yeah forgot to mention that

my pcie 2.0 is overclocked to 115mhz
that would equal to 115% faster than normal PCIE 1.1sig kekeke
need to to balance the proc

Woww, even the ultra can only maintain 20+ at 1600x1080 with all v.high settings, zero AA.
Certain areas with less objects can reach 30+, but that's the furthest it can go...

Like what ianho said, a gtx/ultra can only comfortably reach average 30+ at 1280x1024 on v.high... Probably your system's high fsb, tight timings & gfx OC help alot?
*
hmm some ppl made me wonder
they said that on PCIE 2.0 the 8800gt is 8% faster than PCIE 1.1
hmm is this true??

Added on November 1, 2007, 11:13 amalso i am using a maximus formula SE
which is faster on every proc scores than a 680

ianho's rams are much slower also

mine are running at 9.1k bandwidth sandra 24/7
