Hi all,

I'm not sure if this has been discussed before but i was wondering my options below whether is it plausible with the M6500

1. I'm running a PC with my mkv files in my bedroom.2
2. The M6500 will be placed in my HT room
3. I've read that the M6500 has wifi and therfore can it access my pc to play the mkv files inside it?
4. If yes, will the quality remain at 720p?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. I checked their website and it says tht i can connect it via Wifi but it did not say anything about the wifi dongle.

Does it mean that without the dongle i cant use it to access wifi? And, how much will the dongle cost? I guess the other alternative is to get an external HDD and copy it inside the drive to play it...

ANd another noob question here. With this player, i just copy whatever file i downloaded e.g. AVI, TS, MKV into the respetctive player and i can just play it?

Thanks

Hi,

Just wanna ask, does this player support the following format or is it just a pass through:

1. DTS
2. DTS HD MA
3. True HD

I read up their website and it says (DTS HD MA pass through will be supported through future firmware) so i'm not too sure.

THanks

Hi Guys,

I just downloaded a movie which has the following files extension (.r00, .r01, .ro2, .r03 - .r84, .rar, .sfv)

My question is, how do i play this on my dvico? Just copy n paste the file into my Dvico HDD or do i have to extract or anything first?

Thanks

Hi guys,

New owner of the 6500 here smile.gif

Any valuable tips to share with me? One prob 1 noticed while playing it last night was, whenever i paused the movie half way for too long, and then try to resume it, the whole thing reboots.

Is it a commonly known problem? Also, i tried playing the same movie from my PC on my Dvico, my PC's AQ seems sharper and better. BTW, i'm using HDMI to connect my Dvico to my LCD.

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Sorry for my confusioun. I mean PQ, not AQ.

I'm not sure why my PC's PQ was better but the Dvico it does look a bit grainy. I do hope that its the FW problems. I compared it using a downloaded 8gb mkb file on both my PC & Dvico for comparison purpose.

Have not really tested AQ yet as my home theatre is not up and running as my family is still mourning the loss of my grandpa. I temporary hook it up onto my Samsung HTIB using analog rca cables sad.gif

Yeah i bought the Dvico instead of the Dune was because my main objective was a media player as i do not plan to fully venture into BD yet. Poor man ma so choose media player lo tongue.gif

With the price of a Oppo Rm3k i could get a Dvico & a BD player alraedy. Pros and cons but to me is, if anything were to happen to any 1 player, i still have the other tongue.gif whaha... touchwood

WDTV cant support several files, i forgot what type alraedy...

Its mkv files... If its BD movie files (BDMV) i think the supplier's server would need 20-30 tb of hdd space.. I think there got bout 2k movies..

Nevertheless i think some of those mkv files there arent really compressed e.g. the Chai Ching's concert because the size is 40+gb. The quality will suffer but i think for Rm12 its still worth it IMHO

Bro,

what do you mean by converted to DVD format? Also, as mentioned before the Rm12 there are some excellent files in there. Near blu ray quality as its a direct rip. If you are downloading files less than 10gb then its fine but certain quality files between 20-40gb its pretty hard 2 download. I mean keeping your computer on for days for 3-5 days just for a 40gb file, i think its cheaper to pay rm12 to purchase it haha...

I also dono why i'm supporting him, maybe because i just bought a couple of shows form the supplier i guess. But, just my 2 cents la.. smile.gif

Yeah, thats one of the reason i have no choice and with limited resources, i only can enjoy those bd rip which outside are selling at RM12 per title.

I'm also downloading those 4-8gb movies online as those i will feel wasting money to purchase it from the supplier.

Nevertheless my objective is with my limited resources, i wanna make full use of my HT system...

I think i'm one of the handful here that does not own a BD player but its too poisonous to venture into tongue.gif

For those 10gb MKV files, PQ might not be really visible as the resolution is 1920 x 1080 and is runnig at 24fps. Furthermore if no projector on a 100" then its not really noticible. But AQ really can tell. Like sifu mention on top, those LPCM is incredible...

Thats y when i auditioned my set at A&L i asked them to use a DVD demo disc. No point using a blu ray disc cos i dont be having a BD player. So if it sounds good on a DVD, it will definately sound better on my bd rips smile.gif

acterly I thought so too.. but after watching on a forumer's 24inch Dell monitor between BD-ISO and 10GB 1080p MKV.. the pixalations and compression artifacts from the MKV is quite obvious..

when you compare the video bit rates.. you will know how extremely compressed a 1080p MKV is..

Added on August 20, 2009, 11:05 pm
those new design 5400 rpm 1.5TBs have bigger areal densities per platter than those  7.2k 1TB drives of last year...

so as far as large file transfer rate is concern it's same or faster.. even though it's rotating slower...

Visible even on a 24 inch dell monitor?? Gosh, your eyes must be shocking.gif

Honestly i can tell the diff between a 10gb mkv but not really that obvious. Especially when i'm sitting a distance away from my LCD...

Agree. Both PQ & AQ from MKV files sucks if you compare side by side to blu ray... Even if the MKV files are 30-40gb directly ripped off from a BD..

But in the end, if your budget does not permit, and we want to make the full use of our HT system, i guess that's the only way. DVD are out of the equation...

Added on August 21, 2009, 10:17 amJust wanna clarify, with the new firmware, can it fully 100% support BD ISO files?

Thanks

whats the difference between bdmv and bd iso??

I know BD ISo is a direct image copy from a blu ray which can be burned into a Blu Ray disc... How about BDMV?

Cheers
