mean 1 usb or esata when you connect to pc,my computer will show 4 independant drive.

Added on August 6, 2009, 3:02 pmdue to dvico can support 4 network drive + 2 external usb drive

synology ds409, there is no ds409j model
if you format under basic drive [4 independant drive]
dvico will detect 4 drive,you need set 4 times network setting

if you format under raid 5 , sacrify 1 drive for redundancy,
eg : 4 x 1tb = 931GB x 3 > 2793GB actual spce.
dvico will detect it as 1 drive.
you still got 3 network drive can be share.

accessing to usb external drive must wait awhile due to dvico need read the whole drive before it show the movie list
best combination is icydock+2x 1.5TB+ internal 1.5TB
Actual space : 1397GB x 3 = 4191GB.

but is not worth tto get 2tb now
coz compare with 1.5tb
for additional 465gb, you need pay 2x price of 1.5tb
