1.3.158(BD Lite Version)
link : http://demod.dvico.com/PreRelease/tvix_M-6x00_1.3.158_.zip Below are the list of bug fixes. 1) Network - WiFi works again - D-LINK DWA-140 11n works. (only the WEP 64bit is supported ) - Improved stability when getting IP address from DHCP when using wired network. 2) Audio - Supports the multi channel for FLAC and WAV - Supports the 24bit for FLAC and WAV - Supports the repeat and shuffle when playing through UPnP Other issues are Similar to 1.3.150 % Known issues for Video related - When HD Audio pass-through is on with HD audio stream, S/PDIF does not work - When HD Audio pass-through is off with HD audio stream, playback may not be smooth - When DTS audio setting is digital, HDMI audio is ON and HD audio pass-through is set to ON, then audio is not heard on the SPDIF output ¡¤ For the same setting, if HDMI audio is set to OFF, then audio is HEARD on the SPDIF output - Some WMV may not play correctly - Digital output for AAC/WMA is disabled - Does not support PCM audio track on MP4 now - Some low sampling frequency on AVI and MKV may not sound on HDMI - Some MKV with AAC may not sound % Known issues for TS/TP Video related - The type of PGS language is not showed. - Some TS/TP may not sound. - It is a new TS/TP player written by us not using SDK code. It has better features but the player has not been tested a lot. - It may have some files which do not work better than old TS/TP player. % Known issues for Video and pictures related - For MP3 files with low sampling frequency, the TVIX might crash while playing or trick play like FF or RW. % Known issue for Network - BD ISO playback through Network. ¡¤ It stutters most of the times. It is because mounting ISO as a drive overhead is too much for 6500 CPU. ¡¤ So, it looks like hardware limitation. We are trying to optimize it but it may not result to success. ¡¤ We recommend to use IFO structure. - If you play files without refreshing the file list after delete files through FTP or SAMBA server, the system will reboot. % Known issues for PVR - After channel changed, you may not here audio in short time. This is the bug from the chip manufacturer. To solve this, you can press DTV key or Audio key on the remote. % Known issues for UPnP - Audio Playlist, Icon view and Thumbnail view are not supported - Background music is not supported while playing slideshow - Some internet radio may not be supported Added on August 6, 2009, 10:15 am1.3.147(Regular) Link : http://demod.dvico.com/PreRelease/tvix_M-6x00_1.3.147.zip Changes from 1.3.129TViX HD M-6500 1.3.147/1.3.148(UJuckbox) Release note audio playlist Manual <http> 1) Added the Audio playlist function (* Please download the detailed guide for the audio playlist function) - Select multiple songs that you want to listen and save them as a playlist conveniently (to be saved in Audio/Playlist folder) - When pressing ¡®Audio¡¯ key on the remote, it will move to the Audio/Playlist folder automatically - Listen to music without TV or display ¡¤ When setting Autorun in setup, the first playlist in the Audio/Playlist folder will be played automatically unless there is ¡°autorun¡± folder. 2) Contents native resolution output function has been Added (Please read below carefully before use the ¡°Native resolution¡± feature. If a user do not set resolution correctly, the video may not be displayed or I might hurt display. Please use this function with caution) 2-1) Native Resolution menu on ¡°SET UP¡± - If a user turns on Native Resolution on the Setup-Video/Audio, the Auto NTSC/PAL/24Hz option will be disabled and will not be used. The NTSC/PAL/24Hz option will be functional if and only if Native Resolution is turned off. - When a user turns on Native Resolution, a popup, will be shown. the user can select native content resolution output he want ¡¤ Users can turn on and off for the each resolution. ¡¤ If the user turns on, the check box will be checked and when a video file is played, the source will be output according to the resolution and scan type(progressive/interlace) regardless of the current TV out setting. ¡¤ If the user turns off, the source will be scaled to the resolution and refresh rate set by the TV out setting in SET UP menu. ¡¤ If the user¡¯s display device does not support specific input mode, users will not see any video. In this case, just press stop and the video output mode will go back to the initial mode on the SET UP menu.. ¡¤ For the 720p, we separated the mode to ¡°720p24Hz¡± and ¡°1080p24Hz¡±, since most display devices do not support 720p24Hz mode. If users displays do not support neither 720p24Hz nor 1080p24Hz, users will not be able to see 24Hz video clips. 2-2) Resolution change popup - If TVIX does not detect resolution and frame rate correctly, the Native Resolution will not work properly. In this case, users can press TV Out button while video clips are played. They can change to a specific output mode by selecting correct resolution and frame rate. - TV out button will show the Resolution change popup if the video clip is playing. Otherwise, it will change the Video mode NTSC->480p(DVI)->PAL->576p(DVI) for the a emergency recovery.(If a user use HDMI, a user must reset set video output mode on the using SETUP menu, otherwise, audio will not be sent over HDMI) Available frame rate(refresh rate) table for each resolution 480i 59.94Hz, 60Hz 576i 50Hz 480p 59.94Hz, 60Hz 576p 50Hz 720p 23.976Hz, 24Hz, 29.97Hz, 30Hz, 50Hz, 59.94Hz, 60Hz 1080i 50Hz, 59.94Hz, 60Hz 1080p 23.976Hz, 24Hz, 29.97Hz, 30Hz, 50Hz, 59.94Hz, 60Hz 3) Audio play besides audio playlist function - Fixed the shuffle function for autorun in setup - Supports M4A extension 4) Video playing - Provides page up/down function with ¡®|<<¡¯, ¡®>>|¡¯ keys on the remote for the audio/subtitle/chapter pop-up - Rebooting problem when playing mkv that includes the vob subtile has been fixed. 5) Network - Support for deleting files on network folder has been added (*Netshare isn¡¯t supported) - Improved NFS speed (High bit rate movie will play better even with 10/100 connection ) ¡¤ In case you have problem with 1G LAN, we recommend to use 10/100M mode. (1G option may or may not work better than 10/100M mode depends on the network environment) 6) UJukebox - External subtitle when playing ISO file is supported but the name of subtitle should be same as the ISO file TViX can show two different subtitle in at the same time when selecting the external subtitle. - Position of internal subtitle can be adjusted. ¡¤ How to : After pressing the subtitle key on the remote, while the ¡®subtitle mode¡¯ OSD is shown, press the up/down key on the remote (for internal/external text subtitle, after pressing the subtitle key on the remote, you can adjust the position and size of it as well) 7) Etc - Improved UI : appearance of some icons have been enhanced. - Keeps separate BCS value according to output Hz (23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94 and 60Hz) - Known issues for Video related - Some TP/TS information may not correct. - When HD Audio pass-through is on, S/PDIF does not output. - When HD Audio pass-through is off with HD audio stream, the playback is not smooth. ¡Û When DTS audio setting is digital, HDMI audio is ON and HD audio passthrough is set to ON, then audio is not heard on the SPDIF output. ¡Û For the same setting, if HDMI audio is set to OFF, then audio is HEARD on the SPDIF output. - Some TP/TS files may cause the system rebooting. - Some WMV may not play correctly. - The digital output for AAC/WMA is disabled. - Does not support PCM audio track on MP4 now. - Some low sampling frequency on AVI and MKV may not sound on HDMI. - Some MKV with AAC may not sound. - Known issues for Audio and pictures playing - For MP3 files with low sampling frequency, the TVIX might crash while playing or trick play like FF or RW. - Known issues for PVR - After channel changed, you may not here audio in short time. This is the bug from the chip manufacturer. To solve this, you can press DTV key or Audio key on the remote. - Known issues for general issues. - If you play files without refreshing the file list after delete files through FTP or SAMBA server, the system will reboot. Added on August 6, 2009, 10:29 amHOW TO Create your own TViX firmware PREPARATION ___________________________________________________________________ Create a working directory: mkdir -p ~/tvix/firmware/ && cd ~/tvix/firmware/ Get the original firmware that you want to modify e.g: wget http://demod.dvico.com/down/tvix_M-6×00_1.3.74.zip Unzip the downloaded file: unzip tvix_M-6×00_1.3.74.zip On a side note, I have no idea why DViCo zips their firmware, as the .fwp images are zlib compressed, so size is not reduced. Using .zip for integrity checking is also mostly useless, as zlib does the same, and a crc32 is checked after decryption. FIRMWARE EXTRACTION ___________________________________________________________________ Decrypt and extract the firmware contents: tvixfw –dump tvix_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp tvixfw v.0.4. © Petter Wahlman, aka BadEIP TViX-M6500, DViCO 1.3.74 (9/12-2008 01:21) firmware size: 36523857 fs[3] data: 0×00300000 size: 0×004d6400 name: “romfs.rootfs” fs[5] data: 0×00d00000 size: 0×016c0000 name: “jffs2.apps” fs[6] data: 0×02c00000 size: 0×00840000 name: “jffs2.fonts” decrypting.. uncompressing.. data saved in: “./tvix_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp.dump/” All the file systems, and data needed for re-packing, are now available in the tvix_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp.dump subdirectory: ls -Al tvix_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp.dump/ total 102372 -rw-r–r– 1 petter petter 67108864 2009-02-11 11:21 fwp.decrypted -rw-r–r– 1 petter petter 160 2009-02-11 11:21 fwp.header -rw-r–r– 1 petter petter 23855104 2009-02-11 11:21 jffs2.apps -rw-r–r– 1 petter petter 8650752 2009-02-11 11:21 jffs2.fonts -rw-r–r– 1 petter petter 5071872 2009-02-11 11:21 romfs.rootfs Some kernel drivers must be loaded in order to mount e.g the jffs2_apps file system sudo modprobe mtd sudo modprobe jffs2 sudo modprobe mtdram total_size=65536 erase_size=512 sudo modprobe mtdchar sudo modprobe mtdblock Some recent kernels does not work well with the mtdram driver. If you have this problem, try appending vmalloc=256 to your kernel boot option (typically in /boot/grub/menu.lst) or use block2mtd: LOSETUP=`sudo losetup -f` sudo losetup $LOSETUP $JFFS2_FILE sudo modprobe block2mtd block2mtd=$LOOSETUP,13107 sudo modprobe jffs2 sudo modprobe mtdblock Erase the MTD device: sudo dd if=/dev/zero bs=10240 count=6536 of=/dev/mtdblock0 Copy the jffs2 file systems to the MTD device: sudo dd if=tvix_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp.dump/jffs2.apps of=/dev/mtdblock0 Create a mount point, and mount it: mkdir mnt sudo mount -t jffs2 /dev/mtdblock0 ./mnt You should now see the contents of the file system in ./mnt: ls -lA mnt/ total 0 drwxr-xr-x 2 svn svn 0 2008-12-09 02:21 mruafw drwxr-xr-x 6 svn svn 0 2008-12-09 02:21 samba3 drwxr-xr-x 6 svn svn 0 2008-12-09 02:21 tvix It is now possible to modify the file system. I would suggest taking a look at how I have modified the images in my badeip firmware. main (jffs2_apps/tvix/main) is where I get control of the box. opentvix.init does delayed initialization (I need to make sure that the NIC is initialized, disks are mounted, …) FIRMWARE CREATION ___________________________________________________________________ Creating a new firmware should be easy if you have followed the steps above. First, a new JFFS2 image must be created based on the modified original (which should now be mounted under ./mnt). mkfs.jffs2 -n –eraseblock=128KiB –root=./mnt -o ./tvix_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp.dump/jffs2.apps The only remaining step is to tell tvixfw where the extracted fwp.header is located: tvixfw –create tvix_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp.dump/fwp.header tvixfw v.0.4. © Petter Wahlman, aka BadEIPTViX-M6500, DViCO 1.3.74 (9/12-2008 01:21) firmware size: 36523857 fs[3] data: 0×00300000 size: 0×004d6400 name: “romfs.rootfs” fs[5] data: 0×00d00000 size: 0×016c0000 name: “jffs2.apps” fs[6] data: 0×02c00000 size: 0×00840000 name: “jffs2.fonts” injecting: jffs2.fonts - original size: 0×00840000 - modified size: 0×00840000 - new size (aligned) 0×00840000 injecting: jffs2.apps - original size: 0×016c0000 - modified size: 0×016c0000 - new size (aligned) 0×016c0000 injecting: romfs.rootfs - original size: 0×004d6400 - modified size: 0×004d6400 - new size (aligned) 0×004d6400 compressing.. encrypting.. new firmware size: 36523857 calculating crc… crc: 82 55 70 60 calculating crc… crc: d9 60 c4 ce “firmware created: BadEIP_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp data saved in: “./tvix_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp.dump/” ls -Al tvix_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp.dump/ total 138080 -rw-r–r– 1 petter petter 36523857 2009-02-11 13:00 BadEIP_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp -rw-r–r– 1 petter petter 67108864 2009-02-11 11:21 fwp.decrypted -rw-r–r– 1 petter petter 160 2009-02-11 11:21 fwp.header -rw-r–r– 1 petter petter 23855104 2009-02-11 11:21 jffs2.apps -rw-r–r– 1 petter petter 8650752 2009-02-11 11:21 jffs2.fonts -rw-r–r– 1 petter petter 5071872 2009-02-11 11:21 romfs.rootfs The file ./tvix_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp.dump/BadEIP_M-6×00_1.3.74.fwp can now safely be flashed to your TViX.
