hdmi different lor
shud be able to support HD audio in the future
based on the 8635 chip
just tat, in time to come, they will cease fw for the 4/5100 models i think, and fully concentrate on the 6500 and above models, such as 7000

why do you suggest HTPC? I find HTPC a bit clumsy and difficult to manage.
What say you?

i dunno man, there are some hardcore htpc supporter, especially for 1k+, they can get thmeselvs one unit with dunno how many hundred gbs liao

some say its easy to manage, but for me, i still prefer a plyer rather than a pc, but of cos there is pro and cons

in the end it all depends to the user

I download 720p movies (mkv) and burn it on DVD and I realise I can change subtitle from the DVD playback.

My question is: Can tvix 4100 can subtitle from the remote if the .mkv file supports?

But I realise I can't change subtitle in windows media player. how come?

I download .mkv (720p) movie via rapidshare. I try playback using windows media player and it shows default subtitle.
Sometimes english, sometimes foreign language. I can't find anywhere in media player to change the subtitle.

So, I tried burning it on a DVD using this s/w called ConvertXtoDVD which comes with a dvd menu.
From the dvd menu, I realise there's a function to change subtitle and it works. I change subtitle from the menu.

Now I want to know whether TVIX 4100 can change subtitle or not like in the DVD menu?

wow, can burn like dvd? got menu somemore?
meaning after burn, u use wat software to play?

the 4100 now address subs issue, previously only external subs, .srt with the same file name is playable, after the latest fw update, embedded subs in mkv is playable
if its has more than one subs, there is a button on the remote for u to scroll to your desired sub language

i personally tried it, a movie file with embeded as well as external sub, works fine thumbup.gif

After I burn to DVD, of course I play using normal DVD player la. I select the sub using the dvd remote from the dvd menu.

So, mkv with more than 1 sub can change in tvix 4100, right, via remote?

How can I find the sub in the .mkv file movie? How do I know how to find the sub in that file?

And how to change sub in windows media player?

after burning my 720p mkv file to DVD, the video quality looks like upscaled.
Looks near 720p. I only use a normal DVD with component connection. Considered very good.
