MPC Syabas visit

Have been waiting to upgrade my htpc (used for DVD ISO playback) to HD capable but still no solution for HD/Bitstream audio out as of today AFAIK. So thinking about how this B110 may work..

Gee, seems so convining when it was mentioned in the article. Must be TL Lim who told the writer on the origin of "syabas" since he is the founder of Syabas..yes?? no??

rx330, you got the 6500A? My 4100 can't change subs font, but I read somehwere that you got to copy the font type files into the 6500A directory. Also am not aware of the internet radio capability. Can't help here, sorry.

Is your card still under warranty? I thought Ideatools got branch in Jaybee? Thinking to talk or meet with Ideatools sometime next week. I can help to ask them about your case if you like.

Added on August 28, 2008, 11:11 pmWelcome to the club! I bought mine 4100 together with HD installed by the seller. I think it's WD or Seagate standard SATA (or II) 500G HD. I guess all SATA I or II HD would do. Where are you getting your 6500A? Online?

Yup, the TViX DVB-T tuner is with HD. So it's called HD Tuner as well. Got mine for the 4100 for Rm300. Do you know how much is it for the 6500 version?

Added on August 30, 2008, 10:32 amShould be 1 year warranty and you shld be in good hands. Yes, they do seem to be OK and that's why I plan to meet them to discuss more on some of the issues on the box and hopefully they push DVICO for more firmware revision.

I also think so because my 4100 can play fine up to 25Mb/s or so, but will hit the wall when bitrate goes 30Mbb/s and beyond. rthj, do check the bitrate if that's that's case.

rx, i am having difficulty with my HD tuner card as I can only see a still pic every 20 to 30sec or so for the RTM trial broadcast. Is this normal for trial broadcast or my card also kaput liao?? This has happened since sometime after RTM ended the RTM-HD Olympic broadcast in end-Aug. At fist I thought it must be RTM problem, but it's now more than a months already ,actually there was no pics at all earlier and it started to have the still pic a couple weeks ago.

Can you verify if you pressed the correct button? The one below the mute button is actually photo button. The audio button is the one to the left of photo.

Yep, I tried before and it can not play BD .ISO file. I will upgrade my 4100 when DVICO comes up with one that can play BD .ISO and with full menu support.

Wow, support BD ISO, cool! Pls provide test resuilt, does it work well? Believe it's still BDLite menu only right?

I tried ripping a few ori BD froim PS3 but had encountered a number of issues. A couple of them I could can the m2ts file to be played on the 4100 but no audio. Few others couldn't get virtual drive to recognize the BD iso. Also tried with AnyDVD HD but can't remember what problem I encountered as it was quite a while ago, and I gave up because my pc also does not have enough power to play m2ts. In short, yes, you do need to invest some time to figure out how to rip BD and get to the unprotected iso file. Anybody has succesffully done it and willing to share how?

It's rather cumbersome but it works.

Actually there's a utility program to combine the split files generated by SAK into iso file, instead of doing manual DOS command to append the files. I forgot the utility name. Let me knwo if you need it and I will check from my home pc.
