QUOTE(ar188 @ Aug 20 2009, 08:40 PM) unfortunately it's not.. a BD (main movie M2TS with lossless track+DD would still take 20-30GB) so that;s still much larger than a 1080p + DTS MKV file... and there is a vast difference if your system is "transparent" nuff to view them.. like using fullHD TV/HD projector etc.. + Lossless track is way superior to DD/DTS lossless poison... i like... |

QUOTE(hsiengloong @ Aug 20 2009, 10:07 PM) Yeah, thats one of the reason i have no choice and with limited resources, i only can enjoy those bd rip which outside are selling at RM12 per title. there are cheaper sources... google this thread... I'm also downloading those 4-8gb movies online as those i will feel wasting money to purchase it from the supplier. Nevertheless my objective is with my limited resources, i wanna make full use of my HT system... I think i'm one of the handful here that does not own a BD player but its too poisonous to venture into |

QUOTE(ar188 @ Aug 20 2009, 10:23 PM) need to invest i a good safety helmet.. QUOTE(moomoos @ Aug 20 2009, 10:30 PM) sorry i'm not updated ( just came out from jungle) u keja perhilitan er bro.. so if the quality is so good y ppl still consider BD the rate of hardisk pricing is estimated RM0.40 for 1gb so the cost of 1.5Tb is RM500, just imagine how many BD titles can dump in right?? 1080p mkv is gud enuff but still getting beat down by BD.. it is the never ending war of lossy vs lossless sound (as ar188 oredi xplain) and picture bitrates.. imagine 4-10Mbps 1080p mkv picture vs 20-30 Mbps on BD... you'll know which one really make ur display pop out.. QUOTE(ar188 @ Aug 20 2009, 10:50 PM) err.. M2TS/BDMV/BD-ISO are all BD la HDD is the way to go for storage these days.. Capacity/Price ratio.. but u'll be needing those ICY sooner or later..why you think people here are discussing 6500 with BD lite firmware upgrade or Dune player? that is so that they can play "BD" data from their DVICO or dune without having to use a BD player... anyway the HDD costs of 1.5TB is around RM350.... search around the sales threads in LYN.. bro any difference in transfer rate on those 5400rpm HDD compare to 7200rpm one? QUOTE(ar188 @ Aug 20 2009, 11:38 PM) it was very obvious on that particular demo.... maybe the monitor exacerbate/intensity/magnify the problem more.. superman's eyes.. anyway , most of the time 1080p MKVs should more than enuf.. QUOTE(ar188 @ Aug 20 2009, 11:03 PM) those new design 5400 rpm 1.5TBs have bigger areal densities per platter than those 7.2k 1TB drives of last year... someone else tell me it was 2/3 of 7200 one.. so as far as large file transfer rate is concern it's same or faster.. even though it's rotating slower... it would be the same thing.. just format wise.. BDISO is the image file of the BDMV if they come from the same source.. BDMV is the file structure or referred to as IFO structure of the BDISO file or the Bluray Disc..

QUOTE(ar188 @ Aug 21 2009, 05:48 PM) I tried to recreate some BDMV into ISO.. doesn't seem to work properly.. I think some minor data are lost when taking out the BDMV folder from a BD-ISO...not too sure.. Mayb the method is not the same... i mean creating the BDISO fr BD and creating ISO (image file) from BDMV structure...if still can't need to watch 'Paycheck' one more time |
