QUOTE(1stLaksamana @ Nov 24 2023, 05:12 PM)
Been reading this threat for few months now. just got the time to go TM Point 2 hours ago to change my unifi plan. i walked in without any port out request from competitor.

the plan i used previously was 500mbps (turbo upgrade 2018) with unifi tv - rm169 exlc tax. recently free upgrade to 800mpbs for same price and tv package. Im the only user so i dont need 800mbps
Current SWU 3.0 Offer :-

1) 100mbps rm89, free 6 months bill. no equipment. 24 months contract

2) 500mbps rm119, free 6 months bill. Wifi 6 mesh. 24 months contract

Conditions :-

1) must be free of contract. 6 months and below can try. 1 year and below can apply to be considered by HQ.

2) cannot already on a SWU plan (any).
i took 2nd option. she also mentioned a package lower than 100mbps but i stopped her as i wasnt interested. when inquired about 300mbps, she said it is now called 500mbps since the free upgrade is perpetual (forever). there are also SWU plans higher than 500mbps and with tv combos. go walk in to a tm point.

Depend on staff.
Good one don't ask for proof, just allow you switch.

If you early 1 month, sure no ask, too many ppl sign up SWU 3.0 lol. tongue.gif

Unless your parents moving within 2 years, go with RM 119 is better, the stock orange router not suitable for 100M, get better router + mesh6 extra.
So after you wanna downgrade to 100M also no strange hang issues.

PS: by default no free 6 month for RM 89 100M, just free 3 month, better confirm on this one, as different account different SWU.

For my parents house their usage is not high just wanted to reduce cost and get some freebies.

Ya met good staff never asked for transfer id

Summary confirm free 6 months 100mbps 89 but got extra got free router, installer will come to install later
maybe because my parent house long use 30 mbps then free upgrade, in their system they know not suitable so re-contract give another router too.

But after the speed upgrade, I ald change for them to asus router maybe just ask for PPOE password cuz not sure if upgrade will change the PPOe password. Easier can change router later

Yup, old customer with silver router will replace new router, some got new router so only get 1 mesh6 router as well.
If free 6 month then also worth la, because previous SWU 3.0 for 100M just 3 month without new router. thumbsup.gif

Unless very old account, should no need change PPPoE password, just installer come, let your parents tell him no need setup new router, perform speed test, confirm it is still 100Mbps, then next customer house for installer. tongue.gif

nowadays no such thing as terminate with no coverage anymore. worst case scenario, they will also force u to sign up unifi air that uses 5G, unless ur area also has no 5G coverage. i am sure there will be exceptional case one.

of course u can relocate ur current unifi to somewhere else. no relocation fee at all, it is free. u will pay the same price as what u paid now and the contract will continue.
*
Thanks, for the relocation, any docs do I need to submit to unifi? I'm planning to rent, do I need to request owner to change the electric bill / water bill to my name in order for the request for relocation?

according to the tm point i visited, they will ask for utility bill (yes) for the request of relocation. but u are renting a unit that u did not apply for water/electricty under ur name, u can show them the tenancy agreement which is acceptable as well.

if ur new place has no unifi coverage, they can allow u to suspend ur unifi account for a maximum 3 months before u terminate for penalty or sign up their unifi air (5g) - the tm point staff did not offer me this option but under the tnc clearly stated this is the option u can go for if ur new place has no unifi coverage.

i am moving house in mid of dec. my current unifi contract left 8 months by then. i think i will proceed to suspend first. then maybe see if i can transfer to my cousin my plan or what to avoid playing the extra if cannot then maybe sign up the unifi air, by rite they should not bind me for 2 years contract i guess (did not ask about this one becos the tm point staff totally did not offer this option that time).

Better nope, RM 119, then sign up as add-on, so split into 2 plans, no bind together, easy to downgrade or upgrade internet plan within 2 year contract.

It can't?
I tested via app, can, RM 30 aneka plus or Ruby plus or varnam plus, family rm 60.

But the discounted price should be lower if not bind together la.

wah if SWU 4.0 i waiting update again lol
let say was SWU 3.0 300MBPS M6 RM119 become 500Mbps
so SWU 4.0 if new pricing upgrade explain if RM129 or RM139 For 500Mbps become 800Mbps meaning i will upgrade lol funny
like add extra RM10 to get extra speed 800Mbps that i will take lol its not downgrade lol

Thanks so much. Will try to request to relocate and hope they allow it without getting penalty nor another extension of contract

TM UNIFI should do something already.
Other provider now keep doing a lot of offer and cut price.
Now Astro Fibre even offer 500Mbps for RM90 per month and it is fixed price for 24 months.
