On my X50-5G only has 2 options.  5G preferred and 4G only.  No 5G only  , i wish there is. Firmware 1.10 b20230804 r3600

I am buying a pair of external antenna that works only on 3300-3500Mhz N78 instead of full band antenna, see whether it can stay on 5G or not.

Curious, what is the antenna you buying?

only able to access certain website (i.e lowyat), but, unable to access some website, i.e maybank2u, wikipedia and so on.

anyone encountering the same issue?

Don’t think so. At least when I enabled 5g only, it refuses to connect.

I thought you are going to get those directional antenna. Seems like that would be better. Do tell if your antenna improves the performance.

Seems like my nx510v is normal SMA female.

Im currently on uhome and will switch to yes since it's cheaper and no quota for 5g

U Mobile
1. Frequently drops to 4G throughout the day to utilize their 4G network and carrier aggregation on all 4 bands B1,B3,B7,B8 around 100-150Mbps. Hardly noticeable, even the latency is around 25ms on U 4G compared to 12-19ms on DNB

2. Torrenting not allowed unless connected via VPN

3. Top speed tested is 1.4Gbps, but day to day use 400-600Mbps. During weekends and holidays, 300-400Mbps download.

1. Has not dropped to 4G at all in the past week. Yes 4G only works on either B38 or B40 for me. There is no B20 in my area and I have not seen aggregation on Yes 4G so far. 4G speeds around 30-60Mbps with 40-60ms latency.

2. Torrenting allowed. With good seeders, download is around 25MB/s (around 200+Mbps)

3. Top speed tested 1.2Gbps, day to day use 700-800Mbps. Same DNB mast, but on their end, traffic is not as heavy as U.

4. DOES NOT SUPPORT PLAYSTATION NETWORK. Can log in and download games, but refuse to connect to most multiplayer games. Even if connected, will have difficulty staying in the same party as your friends. Unable to upload videos or screenshots from PS5. The only workaround is lock band onto Yes 4G (Band 38, 40) and PSN will work.

5. Yes FT5G had the tendency to prefer DNB B28 for 4G signals. Yes 5G Flexi tends to connect only to their own B38, B40 for 4G.

6. Having used YES FT5G Prepaid in 2022 alongside my Unifi back then, I'm aware of all the sketchy things YTL likes to do. Unannounced throttling, sudden internet blackout, quietly changing terms and adding FUP etc. Get the RM58 and enjoy the unlimited FUP while you can, you never know when they will change their terms.

Speed of YES 4G(Single band) and YES 5G(B28+N78)

Hmm... this TPlink X50-5G product is not impressive, the ping is terrible compared to my old Netgear M1 mobile router.  Exactly same simcard at same location at same band, M1 4G ping is so stable in the range of 20-30ms. the TPLink fixed at 4g or 5G ping is always fluctuating like share market between 30->100.  Both connected by LAN.

The Netgear product is however damn expensive, such small device with limited function the price is 4x TPlink...

Both are Qualcomm chipset, but implementation level is different.  I have a ZTE MU5002 mobile router, performs terrible also in term of ping (connected by LAN), using Qualcomm chipset as well.

anyone using yes 5g flexi plan mind help confirm that torrenting/p2p is still allowed now?

cause i asked yes customer service just now and the answer i get is flexi plan doesnt support torrent/p2p
