If using the open source NAND dump.. it will not brick our psp right?  game/ game150/ gameXXX/ either directory also is ok right?

for the Fat, its NAND doesn't have the new encryption or digital signature on it, so you can simply copy the NAND from any other Fat PSP, but for the Slim is diferent story, I think the Slim NAND is mobo dependent, Sony has added digital signing to it, if idstorage is screwed up and no backup was found, then the Slim could be used as a paper weight apart from mp3/mp4 player  http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=82859This post has been edited by dattebayo: Oct 23 2007, 10:21 PM |

I asked around at Sg Wang, it costs RM550 for PSP Lite, battery and charger. Is this a good deal? Normally how big is a PSP game when stored in the memory stick?

afaik, only can use one's own NAND/idstorage dump backup to recover from brick in some cases, where the idstorage isn't corrupted, the PSP slim may be unbricked using other PSP's NAND dump  btw, where the heck is the idstorage? flash0 or 1? What is Idstorage ?
Consider Idstorage as a source of volatile data. The Idstorage is located in the IPL.
What is the IPL ?
The word IPL was invented by IBM to fulfill the needs of System/360. The IPL or Initial Program Load, is a hardware function (and not a program) , launched from the system itself. A predefined input/output command is initialised, launching the loading of a start-up program, without the need of a routine predefined bootstrap. The Idstorage is therefore located in the IPL, that is to say in the NAND of the PSP System.
And what is the NAND ?
Consider the NAND as a non volatile flash memory, which, via a system of injection and liberation tunneling, allows the reading and writing of this flash.
What does the Idstorage contain ?

arrhhh!!!The NAND,idstorage and other psp slim problem really make me confusing on weather still wanna buy slim psp o not le haiz...so worry le.If i buy the psp and brick it without knowing it then my psp = rubbish >.< its hard to find anyone tat can help to do this kind of things in kuching haiz
