Didn't the police ask you about the colour of the suspected HONDA car ? I hope the hotel worker can identify the colour of the vehicle and better still if there is a CCTV footage because the alphabets are missing.

The plausible reason are that 1 & 2 were tops sellers in their day and since the production had stopped sometime ago, so there are no parts available any longer. Nothing suspicious. An owner lost his Hilux after using it for 3 months only. After insurance payout settled, he lost Rm12k. I don't know that the payment terms on particular Hilux but it could very well work out to that figure.
