There's no such thing as a PB agent..
All agents are under PM..
PB series of funds are sold by bank tellers, not agents..

To be a PM agent, you need to get recruited by existing agent..
You need to be at least 21 years old, and Grade 3 in SPM or its equivalent..
After that, you need to pay up and register under the branch and go for the Comprehensive CUTE (Computerised Unit Trust Examinations) tutorial, and go for the CUTE examination..
Once you pass the exam, FMUTM will nhave to approve your application before issuing you the licence..

AFAIK, Public Bank(PBB) Mutual Fund agent is from their own full time staff and not related to Public Mutual(PM). They can only sell certain range of funds managed by Public Mutual. Similarly, Public Mutual agent, be it full time or part time, can sell all series of PM funds EXCEPT those sold by PBB Mutual Fund agent. Therefore both PBB & PM agent has no conflict of interest.
One must be at least a SPM holder and 21 years old to apply as PM agent. Interested to becoming an agent? Can PM me. I tell you how. smile.gif

I don't think that's the way..
The 30k target is for the refund purposes, not the annual target, if I remember correctly..
Do correct me if I'm wrong..
And for those who were asking the same questions, please refer to my post in the middle for answers..
I think I have explained quite thoroughly..

Aiseh, bro pls don't provide misleading info if u r unsure, no offence ya! wink.gif

The 30k target is for new agent to hit within first 3 months, in order to redeem exam fees which cost around RM247.50. Which means, if new agent is able to hit 30k sales within 1st three months, PM will give u RM247.50 cash as reward.

Yea initially I was told 6 months. But later I joined the Success101 class the speaker told us the rebate valid till end of this year regardless which month u joined PM as agent. But don't worry, next year there will be similar rebate offer to new recruitment. I have a colleague(new joiner) who hit 60k one day during roadshow. drool.gif
So I think 30k target is like peanuts if u r diligent enough... rclxms.gif

Not that I know of..
The 30k is to encourage new agents to work harder to redeem their fees..

not totally gone, but tagged to "frozen" for period of 6 months. no business can be made in that period.

What is the point..
I mean, you need to get recruited to attend the courses and examinations..
Unless you want to be an inactive agent, then I think you could try..
Better ask your agent for more informations than attending the courses and exam..

FYI

With effect from 1st January 2008, refund of RM247.50 only happened when new Agents achieve sales of RM50,000 and minimum 5 clients!

hi weichong

there are direct and indirect benefits.

direct benefits: commission based on your sales and a year-end bonus.
there will also be career benefits (CB) which you will enjoy forever; basis on your accumulated sales

indirect benefits: passive income from your downline (recruited agent)

i've been an agent for two years and am proud to say PM has given me more financial fredom than i can imagine.
before becoming an agent i was teaching tuitions for side income aside from having my regular 5day week job.
a friend from my uni days told me abt PM and eager to learn abt it, i took up the exams and passed as an agent to bcm a Unit Trust Consultant..and the rest they say is history..
had it not been my friend (who is also my upline and Group Manager now), i would not have the proper guidance to achieve what i had today blush.gif
so can say im lucky indeed as a good upline (AS/AM) is vital for your personal growth as a UTC.

if any of u wish to learn more of it, feel free to pm me for further details..will try my level best to share what i know smile.gif

I just been in this industry recently. Well its not all bed and roses k. You involve in a business that 'selling services', so practically you have to go out and meet people, apart from a very small comission and no basic salary.

The nature is similar to being an insurance agent. Except that insurance is mainly for protection while unit trust is wealth creation. In a sense that you let your money woprk for you to gain more money.

Apart from that what important is your willingness to learn, have high interest in what you do, self motivated and always strive to give the best and assured service to your clients. You need to be a serious and trustable person since you handle a huge sums of people money.

Hi all,

I am on my way to be an agent for PM. Taking exam now.
Can I know how do most agent do their sales?

Is it like insurance agent calling client thru telephone one after another and ask "Do you heard of PM? Do you wan to invest?"

Or go to pub or party and distribute your cards and wait for sales?

To keep it short.. how to do this business? Can anyone experience here tell me?

I am an investor in PM. Mostly I find the agent. Not agent find me because I am right person for them. So, in another way around, how agent to their business?

Thanks.

One can never just wait for success to come knocking on the door.
To be successful in this business, you need sacrifices.
There are several ways you could do this:
1. Cold calling
2. Referrals
3. Roadshows
4. Get to know more people
5. Family and friends

Good luck in your business, and hope you can grow your business quickly.
All the best, my friend smile.gif

theres many ways to market your unit trust. Everyone have their own strategy. Doesnt need to follow other people method, you follow your own planning and strategy that works best for you k.

I dont really believe in extensive coaching, usually i get it done all by myself, coz i dont like depending on people. But when any uncertainty arises, I just call my direct upline manager for info and guidance.

'We dont follow trends, we create the trends!' biggrin.gif
