Correct me if I am wrong. From what i know, the advantage of PCI-E 2.0 over 1.0 are below:
1. Double bandwidth
2. Draw more power for Graphics Card (PCI-E 2.0 is 150W and PCI-E 75W)
3. GC manufacturer save more cost by working out less component. ?You can expect cheaper GC compare to PCI-E 1.0 card.

The X38 and AMD RD790FX will support PCI-E 2.0.

However, current PCI-E 1.0 user won't need to worry as need a extra power source needed (PCI-E Express cable). One more thing, ATI card require PCI-E express card need to plug in no matter it is in PCI-E 2.0 or 1.0 environment. nVidia not sure.

Performance wise, it only benefited in Crossfire or SLI time. About 10%. In single card time, no different as it is not yet fully utilize the bandwidth in PCI-E 1.0.

Nothing really innovative if you ask me, as it just encourages GC companies to let their solutions consume even more power. No point in upgrading for this alone if you ask me.

Since the PCI-2.0 is cater for new generation GPU, that must require high power. Any PSU suite that at the moment? Any PSU support PCI-2.0 now?
