I drive persona...just change my timing belt at 110k km as per service schedule.

Timing chain better no need change. Timing belt you have to be careful, need to change after some mileage.

True but the chain guides usually made from plastic and will wear out cause noisy chain rattles.

Jialat, now whole engine failure and need claim insurance for new engine overhaul... Or replace 2nd hand engine.

Strange, usually 90k mileage still ok. Changed mine recently after 90k+

They say my timing belt still ok despite 90k

Maybe different style of driving plays a role

which is why they don't change both if 1 of them broke
they change the one that broke only laugh.gif

if nothing broke down, no reason to get EL

timing chain also can break. again goodbmechanic can test and suggest replacement if needed during servicing.

dont be surprise, probably the previous service never done properly.

one time, my supplier came to factory, her kelisa engine sound like sore throat on steriod.
ask our factory boy to take a look.
no engine oil. kosong.
and she just did her car service at perodua before coming over...
