Me went to buy parts to upgrade my pc... Wahz mainboard so expensive now...

Back then many year ago, around sgd 300 (rm 1k) can get very good ones... Normal ones are 200+ (rm800-900)... Cheaper ones even below that...

Now a z790 need sgd 400-500... Even more expnesive than cpu... Good thing is ram and SSD coming down.... Now ddr5 32gb even cheaper than back than ddr4 16gb.... Haha... SSD 1tb even cheaper than back then 500gb... Lol.... Psu expensive now.. amd saw the 7800x3d but too expensive. So try out Intel. Me been using amd for many years already. My was Intel CPU was a 6600k.....

When people are willing to pay inflated prices for the new technology, manufacturers charge accordingly.

Anyone who buys a DDR5 system nowadays thinking startup will be faster is just an idiot, because both new AMD and Intel systems are much slower in this regard than the older platforms.

I use 7800x3d and normal b board.

Good enough for most consumer.

Z if you need the extra ports or features or oc.

Have fun though selecting components.

Headache for me with small budgets.

Motherboard indeed more expensive nowadays. Last time same place I can get USB-C connector built-in. Now same price but no USB-C.

pandemic really affects the PC part price due to soaring wfh,factory closing, chip shortage etc.
inflation whatnot this is more like bloated to the moon.

Luckily there are still components which is very cheap. Sub Rm300 motherboard still available. A most basic office pc still can be built around 1k budget.
