It's well known that used car dealers are shady AF.

[LADY DRIVER ONE OWNER ONLY] [NO FLOOD NO ACCIDENT] [LOW MILEAGE, Car King Condition!]
Is what you'll typically see with 2nd hand car dealers on carlist.com, which is hardly believable.

I noticed there's an option to filter them with "CARSOME certified" vehicles.

Has anyone bought a CARSOME Certified used car before? If so, how good are they exactly in terms of reliability? Do you trust Carsome Certified more than the typical dealers?

i bought a car from carsome last year.
didnt test drive / see the car physically at all as i thought carsome is a very good and reliable and trusted from all their ads, they check so many thing when they take the car.

end up the car having issue on the 2nd day i got the car.
car hard to start when is warmed up, i tot is just a small issue and easy fix.

guess what, went to carsome service center, went to 4 allianz panel which carsome bought their car warranty from allianz and 6 different workshops from experts to official service center to continental service center, mostly just say ask me go back official service center to fix which means they dont know how to fix, and some recommend me to rebuild the engine which cost a fortune.

8 months d i owned this car, 70% sitting in my porch and cant drive.
now the car just shuts off then turn to right hand side.

allianz say not covering the warranty anymore as it is having issue since the first day before the insurance valid.

waiting for carsome to reply on this case now.

to be fair, i might be the 1 out of the 100 customer of carsome that is very unlucky.
but i can assure you their aftersales service is goddamn slow.

those sugarcoated words like engine warranty, worry free. yap they have, but when it comes to claiming or processing. good luck.

Hi carsome worker or marketing dept worker, if you read this post, please follow up my case tq, all your carsome hotline aftersales agent know who am i before i say my name/number d.
stop sugarcoating your company with all the words and terms in your funky website and other peoples website and solve my issue thanks.

Lady driver - I believe only around 10% of lady driver really took good care of their rides not only internally but also engine/gearbox maintenance. Majority of lady driver only go to mechanic/sc when things gone bad, most people with experience will avoid it.

what about the 5 days cash back guarantee?
I thought they had a thing like 'if you don't like the car, can return within 5 days cash back guarantee'?
also, please let us know the make and model of the car you bought..

When a family member was looking for a GM5, the carsome sales person even drove to potential customer's office to allow them to view. I was not present, but I told them to snap alot of pictures. Brake booster was leaking bad, entire area was rusted. I said if that is the pattern of the previous owner & agent so desperate to off load that.... then best to find other options.

The sales person even said the leaking can be fixed..... bruh, fix it before putting it on sale la. wtf. Obviously just want quick sale & not knowing their stuff.

Its just another business which has their own best interest in mind, not yours.

For me those cant be trust one, 50/50. Best to check the car with someone know about the car.

I brought car from other company. when see the car, check coolant/radiator, they put water inside then say it previous owner work. I like wtf, didnt they check the car already, pass all the pointer. I diu the salesman and his supervisor say it okay can run no problem etcetc. If water fish then fat liao lor.

Manage to get whole new set of radiator cooling part. Got change new set absorber also.

Now already 1year use, hope no major problem came in.

The part I dont like is need to apply loan first just to see the car, cancel wait another year maybe for me.

kia cerato, most workshop dont dare to fix once they knew engine has been rebuilt before it sold to carsome. not sure whether it is previous bad mechanic or something is wrong with the engine.

yes they have the cashback guarantee, you can return the car.
but you will lose all the processing fees, insurance, roadtax and sorts. they will refund you only the carprice only.
and that time i thought might be just a small issue that a sensor or fuel pump will fix, and also under warranty.
so i thought of just let them fix and continue with that car.

who knows that small issue, car hard to start when warm turns out to be unsolveable by 14 workshops except for rebuilding the whole engine recommended by kia service centre andcertain workshops.

kia cerato.

a little more transparent than most dealers, but car dealers are still car dealers.
still best to have some knowledge of the model of vehicle you are buying and bring a mechanic.

The only used cars that are truly certified are those sold by the car manufacturers pre-owned program/division. The problem with that is:
a) they’re usually more expensive
b) the best ones are snapped up by the manufacturer’s staff

In that case I guess it’s partially also because of the model you picked? It’s more “cold door” compared to other more common cars like Myvi/Vios that workshop will be more likely to fix.
Do you know the engine’s been rebuilt before your purchase?

I’ve always felt that Carsome’s marketing is overly fluffy and sugarcoated too, hence the skepticism.
