QUOTE(louiszzz @ Jun 20 2023, 01:47 PM) If all you're looking for is a steak, buy and cook yourself is better. Its not hard, cheaper and you get to season exactly to your liking. If you are going to have steak outside, it has to be for things you can't really do at home, for example dry aging. Or pairing with ingredients like bone marrow butter, demi-glazes etc. Beato's is my go-to for steak, since I can't dry age at home. Otherwise some simple places that's never dissapointed are - las vacas - ttdi meatpoint A friend said that "The steakhouse KL" is good, though I've never tried. QUOTE(skyblu3 @ Jun 20 2023, 01:54 PM) Suzi Corner, ampang point there See picture also know its going to be crap already Her husband dulu dulu was a chef in a big hotel Hence very good her steaks. http://www.suanie.net/2014/05/steak-hut-at...pensive-steaks/ QUOTE(soul_gamerz @ Jun 20 2023, 02:03 PM) No, it sucks. QUOTE(nauticat99 @ Jun 20 2023, 02:53 PM) I cannot understand what’s so nice about aged beef. Tried it at Wolfgang’s Steakhouse Genting and just find it tough. Chew and chew, no marbling. Tougher than kambing QUOTE(Lembu Goreng @ Jun 20 2023, 03:06 PM) Dry age is suppose to give you a more tender and deeper/complex flavour steak. The quality of the cow and its cut is still important. Then also how it is cooked. If the meat is though, its likely cause overcooked or it was a lean cut to begin with. Most steak places let you choose the meat, so choose one with good marbling la. If you choose a tenderloin and cook it to medium then surely can expect it to be more tough compared to a ribeye. |

I find dry age is VFM.... 6 weeks dry aged angus. similar price to score 4-5 wagyu of the same cut, and taste a lot better then wagyuIf you are going to have steak outside, it has to be for things you can't really do at home, for example dry aging. the only place that i ate a Rib Eye steak that is so gooding on par with 4 stars restaurants (eg. Kay's Steak & Lobster in Putra Height USJ, expensive tho) in terms of taste, and paid MYR35 is not in KL, but in Olivia's @ Penang Jelutong.
8 person eat, steaks, appetizer and dessert. total less than MYR270. damn cheap and real good TS, if you wanna big portion and 5 stars restaurant steaks (eg. Marble 8 Fine Dining). then I cant help you ...... if you are OK with 4 stars, so far I found Olivia's is the cheapest. This post has been edited by iEatCuteDogs: Jun 20 2023, 04:31 PM |

taste is subjective
own cook is the best - steak is the easiest meat to play with (not like chicken or fish need to marinate add macam2 sauce - if add wrong taste bad/weird) steak - even if you forgot to marinate - still taste good, just adjust salt and pepper later on you overcook - still can eat ... undercook also can eat no problem |
