▫️In Zaporozhye direction, as a result of preemptive active action by Russian troops, aviation, and artillery, the enemy units have been hit close to Chervonaya Krinitsa, Egorovka, Preobrazhenka, Novodanilovka, and Pyatihatki (Zaporozhye region).

▫️The enemy losses were up to 175 Ukrainian servicemen, 2 tanks, 4 armoured fighting vehicles, 2 Polish-manufactured Krab self-propelled artillery systems, 4 D-20 howitzers and 1 D-30 gun.

▫️In Kherson direction, the enemy losses were up to 35 Ukrainian servicemen, 3 motor vehicles, and 1 Msta-B howitzer.

▫️Operational-Tactical and Army aviation, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation have neutralised 126 artillery units at their firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 138 areas.

▫️In addition, 1 radar station for detecting aerial targets has been hit near Rogan (Kharkov region).

▫️1 ammunition depot of the AFU 44th Mechanised Brigade has been destroyed near Torskoye (Donetsk People's Republic).

▫️Air defence facilities have shot down 8 projectiles launched by HIMARS MLRS.

▫️In addition, 22 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been shot down close to Olshana (Kharkov region), Melovatka (Lugansk People's Republic), Belogorovka, Semigorye, Zaitsevo, Spornoye, Berestovoye (Donetsk People's Republic), Chapaevka, Chistopolye, Tokmak, Tarasovka, Novozlatopol (Zaporozhye region), Malaya Lepetikha, and Golaya Pristan (Kherson region).

📊In total, 458 airplanes, 245 helicopters, 5,518 unmanned aerial vehicles, 428 air defence missile systems, 11,130 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,142 fighting vehicles equipped with MLRS, 5,768 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 12,071 special military motor vehicles have been destroyed during the special military operation.

Russia has promised to launch a new offensive against Ukraine soon. Russian Senator Dmitry Perminov has said that Moscow's military will go on the offensive once the situation on the ground becomes “favourable” for such an endeavour. Commenting on the slow counteroffensive, he said that the Russian Army was currently grinding up the armed forces of Ukraine.


Ukraine has now warned of a severe weapons shortage and urged its Western allies to send more artillery shells, longer-range weapons and F-16 fighter jets. “From the point of view of battlefield parity, there is indeed a significant shortage,” RT News quoted top aide to Ukraine’s president, Mikhail Podolyak, as saying. He added that Ukraine’s military campaign is being held back by a lack of weaponry. He called upon Ukraine's allies to provide additional supplies to effectively counter Russia.

Putin's troops launched a full-blown attack in Kharkiv's Kupyansk with tanks, artillery and aviation fire. Russia says it captured seven strongholds from the Ukrainian troops in Kupyansk. Moscow also says its army captured nine Ukrainian army posts in the region. Kharkiv's Kupyansk has been witnessing intense battles in recent weeks. According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, Ukraine carried out four counterattacks, but all of them were repulsed.


Russian troops have attacked Ukrainian forces in Donetsk region and destroyed two 155 mm self-propelled Krab artillery units supplied by Poland with lancet loitering munitions in Svyato-Pokrovskoe and Kirovo, TASS reported. The Russian military also struck Ukrainian civilian areas in Kherson, Kyiv has said, and reported deaths of three people.

Colonel Douglas Macgregor tells Stephen Gardner how Ukraine's worst nightmare has been exposed. Hundreds of thousands of freshly dug graves are showing up on satellite images, proving to the west that Ukraine is being wiped out by Putin and Russia. This is now a humanitarian crisis that needs to be stopped. Ukraine will run out of bullets and bodies to throw at Putin. Meanwhile, Putin has over 300,000 men and women in training just waiting to be released on the battlefield. Scott Ritter agrees with Macgregor that close to 400,000 have been killed and over 50,000 have lost a limb.

Update on the conflict in Ukraine for August 9, 2023:

- Western analysts and media sources are beginning to admit the poor progress, heavy losses, and fundamental flaws of the Ukrainian offensive and beyond that, the unsustainable nature of the proxy war in the first place;

- Ukraine is shifting away from attempts to storm Russian lines and attempting instead to conduct attritional warfare, however, it lacks the material resources to do so which necessitated “storming” tactics in the first place;

- As Ukraine’s offensive falters on the battlefield, Kiev and its Western sponsors have been focusing on aerial and naval drone strikes to create the illusion Ukraine maintains the initiative;

- Quantities of artillery, armor, and trained manpower determine the duration of Ukraine’s offensive. The disposition of both Ukrainian and Russian forces including the reserves of both sides will determine if a breakthrough will occur;

- Russian military industrial capacity and the material resources it produces for the ongoing military operation ensures that no matter where Ukraine’s offensive ends on the battlefield, it will leave Ukrainian forces exhausted, depleted, and unable to sustain their fighting capacity;

- Industrial capability between the collective West and both Russia and China is and will remain into the foreseeable future leaning in favor of Russia and China;

- The West gambled and lost on “small wars” as it enters an end game for geopolitical unipolarity against Russia and China and the reality that modern warfare against peer and near-peer competitors requires industrial capacity the West doesn’t have and cannot obtain;

Unsuccessful Ukrainian drone raid on the Crimean Peninsula.

in the morning, after a comprehensive reconnaissance by the US Air Force and NATO Air Force, Ukrainian formations again attacked the Crimean peninsula with Mugin-5 PRO drones launched from the Odessa region.

As a result of the joint work of the units of the 31st Air Defense Division and the electronic warfare crews of the RF Armed Forces, 12 targets were shot down: ten were suppressed by electronic warfare near Cape Tarkhankut and Yevpatoria, one was shot down by the Tor air defense system over Chersonese, and the other on the way to the Novofedorovsky airfield over Saki by the Pantsir air defense missile system.
